ski resort of les Grand Montets and only a five minute walk through the village to the main street of Argentiere. The chalet enjoys a unique location set back

from the village centre in lush surroundings, surrounded by peace and tranquillity.

Ski in/ski out access to the les Grand Montets ski resort is possible through the forest via the La Moraine cross country track, located 1 minute from the

chalets front door.

The village of Argentiere can also be accessed within a five minute walk along the narrow, winding lanes of the village. The village has a great range of bars

and restaurants, a supermarket, a newsagent, a doctor, pharmacy and many other speciality shops catering to a wide range of needs.

catered ski chalet that can sleep up to 8 people. The chalet has been constructed

Marmotte Mountain Zenith (1) is ideally located in the heart of the old village of Argentiere. To reach the village centre of Argentiere is merely a few minutes

on foot. The old village of Argentiere is a beautiful, traditional Savoyard village with architecture dating back to the 18th century. Just going for an evening

stroll thru the village can often be a highlight for many visitors and keen photographers.

The village has a great range of bars and restaurants, a supermarket, a newsagent, a doctor, pharmacy and many other speciality shops catering to a wide

range of needs. If guests prefer to make their way to les Grands Montets ski area on foot, they can walk thru the back of the village and onto the forest

X-country ski track which then joins the homepiste of the Grands Montets - this takes approx 10-15 mins.

There is also a complimentary bus service available within the valley and the nearest buys stop is in the middle of the Argentiere village, only a few minutes

CYCLING

• Duration: 8 days and 7 nights (6 rides and one warm up)

For 12 days, we aim to sample the smorgasbord of French cycling experiences. We’ll

face challenges on the bike but there is no hurry; it’s not a race. Some days we’ll ride

part of the race route, see stage starts, finishes and sprints and the feed stations.

We’ll experience first-hand what it takes to climb mountain roads that separate champions from the merely excellent.

At the same time we’ll share the excitement of villages dressed up for the passage of the TdF while refining our taste

for French cuisine in boulangeries, bars, cafés and restaurants. Each day there are ride options with time to dawdle

and sightsee, or to make an effort that gets your heart racing. By the time we return to Paris for the Champs-Elysées

finish, you’ll have filled a mental memory card to overflowing with experiences of your own Tour of France.

DAY 1: THURSDAY 17TH JULY

You are free to arrive into Grenoble/Uriage at any time

today. Our staff will be collecting participants from the

Grenoble Railway station only to the hotel in Uriage at

1.30pm. (As a rule, most hotel rooms are not available

until 3pm).. There’s time to settle in, reassemble your bike

and meet fellow cyclists and staff that will be joining our

TDF adventure. There’s the chance of taking a short 15-

20km casual ride to get the legs moving and to ensure

your bike is ready to go. It’s then time to see the stage

finish on television, hopefully in a bar or cafe near the

hotel. We’ll enjoy a welcome dinner this evening at our

hotel where you will meet your fellow cyclists and our

expert guides & leaders.

DAY 2: FRIDAY 18TH JULY

Today we will leave the hotel in the vehicles and make

our way to the 2011 time trial course where Cadel Evans

decisively wrestled the yellow jersey from the shoulders

of Andy Schlek. We’ll ride our very own race as we cycle

17th -28th July 2014 - Grenoble, Pyrenees & Paris!!!!

over roads that the TDF pros have travelled on and

won stages in this amazing sporting event. The

stage today is a mountain top finish at Chamrousse,

where we plan to see the peloton for the first

time. The rural passages of the tour are a hive of

activity so we’ll find a position for the arrival of the

publicity caravan of over 300 vehicles, followed

by the flurry of riders and support cars. No doubt

the peloton will be splintered and it’s an amazing

day to see your favourite cyclists up close as they

pass by. After they continue up hill, we’ll make our

way back to the hotel for dinner.

DAY 3: SATURDAY 19TH JULY

What a day’. After breakfast we make our way into

Grenoble for the start of the day’s stage - and the

cities 37th appearance as a Tour de France stage

location. In 2013, one of the Tour’s most exciting

attackers, Thomas Voeckler, triumphed here.

We will leave the city after the start and depart for

the small town Rochetailles which is located just

10kms before the base of Alpe d’Huez. It’s time

for you to experience the ‘ride of your life‘ on this

bucket list and famous Tour de France climb.

Alpe d’Huez is one of the great climbs of the Alps

and was first climbed by the Tour de France peloton

in 1952. As you cycle the 14kms, 21 hairpin turns

and 1100 vertical metres to the finish at the top of

the mountain, you will be in awe of the view of

the valley below and the many photo opportunities,

seemingly at every corner. What an experience,

what an achievement.

At the top of the mountain is the small ski village

and where you can have lunch or simply wander

around and soak up the views and fresh air. We’ll

then make our way back to Uriage, where tonight

is free to go into Grenoble for dinner.

DAY 4: SUNDAY 20TH JULY

It’s a big day for the peloton as they move from

the Alps and through Provence and into Nimes.

As they are moving quickly now, we will move too

and make our way towards our accommodation in

Carcassonne for 3 nights.

Today is an early start. Its 247kms in the vehicles

to the village of Bedoin, located at the base of the

Giant of Provence, Mont Ventoux, which dominates

the landscape and can be seen ominously in the

distance from almost everywhere in the area. For

cyclists it is one of the ‘must do’ rides and worth

it for the sense of achievement and the view from

the summit. It is not a ride for the faint hearted as

the climb is a long and tough one. From Bedoin

where the climb begins in earnest, it’s a long

climb to Chalet Reynard before the final kms of

barren landscape take you past the Tom Simpson

memorial and on to the summit for a souvenir

photo.

For those not wanting to tackle Ventoux we

will offer an alternative ride visiting some of

the lovely local villages. If time permits, we will

watch another passing of the peloton as they

move towards the stage finish in Nimes. It’s then

an additional 280kms through to Carcassone, our

home for the next 3 nights.

DAY 5: MONDAY 21ST JULY

Today is a rest day for the pro peloton so there will

be no viewing today.

Carcassonne, The Walled City is known first and

foremost as a fortified medieval town, but this

rocky outcrop has been occupied by man since the

6th century B.C.. Some of you will feel like a day

away from the bikes and there’s certainly plenty to

do in Carcassonne. For others we’ll leave the city


and make our way south of Carcassonne and into

the Limoux wine region. It’s a day to explore, ride

and maybe even taste a few local wines before

making our way back to the hotel. Tonight you are

free to explore the city.

DAY 6: TUESDAY 22ND JULY

This morning we will be able to walk or ride from

our hotel to experience all the excitement of the

race start and watch the riders as they arrive on

their bikes ready for the sign on. This is a great

chance to get close to the stars of cycling, get

some great photos and if you are lucky score an

autograph. Once the race has left we’ll make our

way north of the city on our bikes where we’ll

spend the day cycling and enjoying the French

countryside.

It’s then back to the hotel, where you have another

free evening to enjoy dinner (own expense) and

maybe a walk around the beautiful city for the last

time.

DAY 7: WEDNESDAY 23RD JULY

After breakfast, we will make our way across the

south of France and into the city of Lourdes, the

gateway to the classic cols of the Pyrenees ‘ our

home for the next 3 nights.

We’ll arrive into the Pyrenees and stop in a village

to prepare ourselves for the ride of our lives. While

sipping your coffee you may want to look up ‘

that’s where we are going. Yes, we’re riding up the

incredible Hautacam. Pace yourself on the way up,

and take extra care on the descent as there will be

riders of all abilities, walkers, hikers, dogs, cats,

frogs and picnic rugs of enthusiasts set up all over

the mountain.

This could be your toughest day on tour. You need

to be prepared for high alpine riding. Although we

don’t have any time pressure you will be on your

bike for a while! The support vans will be with us

today and we’ll make sure there’s a lot of coca cola

on board.

Everyone’s first ever evening in Lourdes is always

an interesting one; you’ll be puzzled, amazed,

inspired and possibly a little confused by the

incredible sights in Lourdes. Although it’s TdF time,

the cycling pilgrims are still vastly outnumbered in

this holy city by religious pilgrims. The pageantry

and processions may be unlike anything you have

ever witnessed before, it’s unforgettable. After

dinner take a walk around and get up close with

everything Lourdes has to offer.

DAY 8: THURSDAY 24TH JULY

The peloton is in the mountains again and so are

we! Today we will leave the hotel and ride through

the small quaint villages of the Pyrenees, on our

way to the Col du Soulor. This part of France is

a magnet for cyclists too and you will see all the

famous names of the Cols that the peloton ride

over each year.

This afternoon there will be another opportunity

to watch the race as it makes its way to the stage

finish on Hautacam. This climb will sort out the

riders as they say good bye to the Pyrenees for

another year.

DAY 9: FRIDAY 25TH JULY

As the craziness of the TDF leaves the mountains

for another year, we will stay on and enjoy another

day riding these magical Cols! There will be no

viewing of the Tour de France today.

We’ll ride from the hotel and take on the ultimate


challenge, the punishing Col du Tourmalet (2115m)!

Making it to the top is always worth a photo! From here we

can enjoy a 35km downhill all the way to the picturesque

thermal spa town of Argelés-Gazost , before making it

back to the hotel and a well-earned drink and dinner!

DAY 10: SATURDAY 26TH JULY

What results will the time trial bring as the riders race from

Bergerac to Perigueux’ Who will shine today and will the

time trial make a difference to the general classification’

Will the stage win today discover a new TDF winner in

2014 or will it be a familiar face’

It’s a leisurely breakfast this morning before we take

advantage of France’s excellent rail system to speed us

back to Paris. We’ll depart Lourdes around 10.30 am, and

will arrive in Paris 6 hours, around 4.30pm. Upon arrival,

we’ll transfer to our hotel to freshen up and hit the town

for dinner (own expense) ‘ Paris is waiting for you.

DAY 11: SUNDAY 27TH JULY

Another great Tour de France day ‘ the final stage along

the Champs Elysees.

This morning, our crew will lead you in your very own

peloton around the streets of Paris, past the tourist

sites and to possibly to the infamous Champs Élysées,

providing it hasn’t been closed. This is an opportunity not

to be missed and we know you will enjoy the sights of

this beautiful city on bikes. After lunch, you may choose

to join in the crowds welcoming the victors of Le Tour,

or may prefer to take it easy and view the race from the

comfort of a local bar. If you go to the Champs-Élysées to

view the grand finale and culmination of 3 weeks cycling

around France, you will understand why Tour de France

is known as the world’s largest sporting event. By 5pm,

we will know who’s in the yellow, green, polka dot and

white jerseys. Will an Aussie shine in 2014’

Tonight we will host a farewell dinner to celebrate a

fabulous two weeks with your new friends.

Now that we have conquered the French Alps, we say au revoir to France and

bonjourno to Italy, as we head by minibus to Venice in preparation for the Treviso

Grand Fondo Pinarello marathon.

The La Pina cycling marathon starts in the beautiful town of Treviso and heads into the Dolomites for either 118km’s

or 176km’s of stunning scenery and challenging cycling. With a good, solid week of Alpine riding under our belts, we

will be in a good shape to perform well and more importantly, enjoy this incredible event to its fullest.

The next few days will be spent enjoying more leisurely rides and taking in the beautiful northern Italian countryside

and what it has to offer. In between our days of cycle exploration, we have also managed to arrange a private visit

to Pinarello HQ. There, you can witness for yourself some of the secrets to the creation of the incredible Pinarello

cycling machine.

In the evenings, we will return to our base in Venice where, whilst wining and dining we will soak up the romance and

beauty of this historical city of canals. Out trip finishes on the Wednesday with a farewell lunch and time to reflect and

reminisce on this truly memorable experience.

World free ride skiing legend, Kit Deslauriers, heads the coaching team in our Back Country Free Ride Camp, designed especially for women to reach their inner potential whilst tackling Chamonix Valleys famed back country terrain.

Kit DesLauriers is a champion American free ride skier and two-time women’s world freeskiing champion, winning back-to-back titles in 2004 and 2005. She then made the history books by becoming the first person in the world to ski from the summit of the highest mountains on all seven continents. This incredible goal was completed on October 18, 2006 when Kit became the first woman and first American to successfully make a ski descent from Mount Everest.

Kit, with her vast wealth of free ride skiing knowledge and big mountain conquests is now ready to share her experience with you to help you find/realise you true skiing potential.
