The University of South Florida, also known as USF, is a member institution of the State University System of Florida, and a public research university located in Tampa, Florida,USA. Founded in 1956, USF is the fourth-largest public university in the state of Florida, with a total enrollment of 47,646 as of the 2012–2013 academic year. The USF system comprises three institutions: USF Tampa, USF St. Petersburg and USF Sarasota-Manatee Each institution is separately accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, The university is home to 14 colleges, offering over 80 undergraduate majors and more than 130 graduate, specialist, and doctoral-level degree programs.

In order to better serve the growing student population on the Tampa campus, the building was torn down and replaced with a new 230,000 square foot union in 2008. The new facility, now called the Marshall Student Center, still pays homage to its former director. The four-story building features a 1,200 seat ballroom, 700 seat auditorium, 100 workstation computer lab, study and meeting spaces, several student lounge areas, and outdoor courtyards. The facility offers several retail outlets including a pharmacy, computer store, credit union, and identification card center, The building features nine dining options, including the first-ever Beef ‘O’ Brady’s on a college campus.As the home of the USF Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement, Student Government, the Center for Student Involvement, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the center is considered to be the gathering place for all things student life at USF.[

The Centre Gallery is a student-run art gallery located on the second floor of the Marshall Student Center with a focus on innovative, contemporary art work. The gallery is open to the general public.

Graphicstudio is a university-based workshop engaged in a unique experiment in art and education. Graphicstudio’s philosophy of providing artists with the freedom to experiment and pursue new directions to advance their practice, matched with an exceptionally talented faculty and staff, has attracted world-renowned contemporary artists to the University of South Florida (USF) campus in Tampa. Their collaborative projects have produced print editions and multiples at the forefront of contemporary art.

BULL MARKET

This Fall, the Bull Market can be found on the MSC Plaza. Many years ago, Bull Market started on MLK Plaza, then moved to Sessum’s Mall near Cooper Hall. Now, that the Marshall Student Centerhas opened a new plaza where the old University Center/Marshall Center stood, the Bull Market is back where it started. Every Wednesday during the Fall and Spring semesters, vendors and student organizations set up tables and sell items or hand out information from 8:30am to 4:00pm

THEATRE

Through its curriculum and production program, students have the opportunity to prepare for a professional career in the theatre or to continue their studies at the graduate level. Our exclusively undergraduate program boasts intensive studies in the disciplines of performance, design and theatre arts as well as a close working relationship with our nationally and internationally recognized faculty.

CENTRE GALLERY

The Centre Gallery, established in 1984, is the only fully student-run, non-profit exhibition space in the state of Florida. Exhibitions run in two-week durations and are attended by over 4,000 visitors each semester. Receptions are held from 7 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of the opening week.Our primary objective is to provide USF community artists the opportunity to experiment with new ideas while gaining a complete educational gallery

experience.

ROYAL PALM BALLROOM

The Royal Palm Ballroom with over 10,000 sq ft is available to seat 650 guests for a dining event or to greet 1100 convention attendees. The 700

seat oval theater is ideal for presentations in any format. The Chamber is a tiered presentation room suitable for a smaller formal gathering. There are

21 additional meeting and social rooms available for breakout rooms, private dining events and group meetings up to 275 attendees.

TOP OF THE PALM

Located on the 3rd floor overlooking MLK Plaza, On Top of the Palms is a sophisticated dining restaurant with a gorgeous view of the campus. Offers buffet selections, carving station, exhibition cooking, and assorted desserts. Private rooms are available for lunch meetings. Reservations are recommended,
