Business Process Management

A new (or another) way of working

Large investments, Long term

• Customer focus

• The Process is leading

• Rapid delivery, involvement of end-users

• Current systems remain support SOA

• Payback < 1 year

• Model driven for re-useability

Process Focus, supporting SOA

Traditional approach:

Focus on ICT Architecture

Necessary approach:

Process orientation

Engage! Technologies Engage! BPM Suite for SOA

• Analyzer provides business process

analysis, simulation and an open interface that enables import from high level business process modeling tools.

• B2BPEL provides “smart” technical process design, automatic Web Services (WSDL) connectivity.

• Dashboard provides a set of interactive analytical/reporting tools for real-time business process activity monitoring related to the output of the BPEL-Engines in combination with real-life data.

ORACLE FUSION(or others)

Engage! BPM Suite

For who?

• Business Managers who need to manage their real-time operational processes.

• Business Analysts who need to design their process models and the related parameters like cost, time and added value.

• SOA Architects and analysts who need to bridge the gap between business analysts and developers.

B2BPEL(Business-to-BPEL) is a BPEL analysis- modeling and management tool allowingusers to easily describe businessprocesses from the process point of view, connect Web Services and immediately generate executable BPEL processes.

Meant for• SOA Architects and analysts who need to bridge the gap between business analysts and developers.• Architects and process developers who want to quickly test and generate executable BPEL processes.

16

Engage! B2BPEL

Business Process Execution Language

BPEL is the favorite specification standard Web Services protocol for expressing Business Process Management (BPM) flows.

BPEL is to provide an Extensible Markup Language (XML)-based executable language that allows developers to define the business process sequencing required to ‘string’ web service invocations into complex services.

BPEL is:- Open- Interoperable (significant support coming from basis Web Services) - Portable (expressing Business Processes for business concerns via WDSL connected Web Services).

Engage! Company Overview

Over 30 proven customer cases

Shell • Old situation. Around 30 people working on ordering cranes and trucks for

drilling activities. Any new order needed manual input in SAP, EB-PRO and Trade ranger. High response times, high costs and no automatic throughput.

• New situation: An intelligent plug-in to SAP / EB-Pro and Trade-Ranger was realised. The, via webbrowser entered, transport orders are automatically send from SAP to EB-PRO and Traderanger.

• Time + total cost: 3 months, € 130.000 PLUS € 70000

• Benefits: 80% staff reduction, availability of real-time management information, enabled Shell to outsource the purchasing process
