Report cards go home this Friday and Conferences are the following week 12/5 6:00pm-8:00pm and 12/7 from 1:30pm-3:30pm. You will receive a link to sing up for conferences. We do many things to ensure the safety of our students. All staff must have a CORI and be fingerprinted. All volunteers, chaperones, and presenters have a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check before they can participate at school. This process can take time. This year everyone needs to fill out a new CORI form in order to volunteer. Once you fill out the form you must bring it with your license to the office for verification. Then the form is sent to Central Office where it is sent to the state and the results are returned to the superintendent’s office. There are NO ACCEPTIONS. Please help us keep our school safe. Have a terrific week! Nurses Corner Attendance is followed closely. Each day that your child will be tardy or absent, you must call into the front office for the Safe to School Program. If your child has an illness, and needs to stay home, a note upon return must be sent into school for the school nurse. Emails sent to teachers do not always get forwarded to the front office. Any absence, related to illness and exceeding 3 or more days, must have a Dr.'s medical note of clearance before returning to school. If you have any concerns or questions about attendance illness policies- please call 781-319-3985. With the weather pattern changing, it is recommended to dress in layers. Inside the building can become quite warm throughout the day, but students are encouraged to have appropriate outer gear for recess. Please be sure your child brings water to stay well hydrated. The heat in the building is dry causing throats to become irritated. PTO NEWS Thank you to those who attended our general PTO meeting in November. As has been noted, we are looking for new board officers for the 2018 school year please reach out to any PTO board member if you would be interested or would like more information. Thank you to all those who shopped our charity shopping day at Toy Box! On Thursday, November 30 at 2 PM there is a townwide elementary cross country meet at the Boys and Girls club of Marshfield. All students kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome to attend and compete! On Thursday, December 7 from 4 to 8 PM we will have a fund-raising night at Panera bread in Pembroke, flyers will be home next week! Please mark your calendars and save the date for a comedy night fundraiser on January 26 at Venus!!! If you would like to help and be more involved please reach out to us!! As a reminder, if you wish to volunteer at a school event, classroom, field trip or a PTO sponsored event you MUST have a CORI completed and on file. The school department has started a new cycle, which means ALL volunteers MUST have a CORI completed this school year PRIOR to volunteering at any event or within the school. This year, a town wide elementary school cross country meet is being held on November 30 at 2 PM at the Marshfield Boys and Girls Club. This is open to all students’ kindergarten through fifth grade. As was previously noted, we are seeking new board members for the 2018 school year. If you have any interest or questions please feel free to reach out to any current board member.
