No There will be no effluent generation from the process & cooling of Pellet plant, Sinter plant, Sponge iron, Billets & Rolled products as closed circuit cooling system is proposed to be adopted in the proposed project. Hence no waste water generation from the proposed project. Effluent from power plant such as boiler blow down, DM Plant regeneration will have pH between 9.5 and 10.5. Hence a neutralization tank will be constructed for neutralizing the boiler blow down & DM plant regeneration water After neutralization these two effluent streams will be mixed in a Central Monitoring Basin (CMB). The treated effluent will be used for dust suppression and Green belt development within the premises. No effluent will be let out of the plant premises. Hence Zero discharge concept will be implemented in the proposed project. Sanitary waste water will be treated in Septic tank followed by sub-surface dispersion

trench.

7.3 By deposition of pollutants emitted to air into the land or into water

No High efficiency ESPs are being / will be installed to WHRB & FBC boiler stacks to bring down the PM to within the norms. Fume extraction system with bag filters will be provided to treat the gases and the secondary fugitive emissions from the SMS. Unloading areas will be provided with water sprinklers to prevent the fugitive dust. All conveyors will be completely covered with GI sheets. Ash will be stored in silo and entire ash will be given to Cement plants / brick manufacturers. Hence there will not be any major deposition of pollutants into the air/land/water.

7.4 From any other sources No Not applicable

7.5 Is there a risk of long term build up of pollutants in the environment from these sources?

No Not applicable

8. Risk of accidents during construction or operation of the Project, which could affect human health or the environment

S.No. Information/Checklist confirmation Yes/No Details thereof (with approximate quantities /rates, wherever possible) with source of information data

8.1 From explosions, spillages, fires etc from storage, handling, use or production of hazardous substances.

No LDO/HFO will be stored in storage tanks with dyke wall arrangement as per OISD guidelines. Waste oil will be stored in covered HDPE drums in designated area and will be given to APPCB approved vendors. Good housekeeping practices will be adopted. Hence there will not be any adverse impact on environment

8.2 From any other causes No Not applicable

8.3 Could the project be affected by natural disasters causing environmental damage (e.g. floods, earthquakes, landslides, cloudburst etc)?

No Not applicable
