5rom the moment I was told to choose a topic for my research

would not %e an easy task and that my decision was threatened

It was one weekend a%out a year ago that %y chance I went

with my parents to a conference in 'arragona. 'he seminar was

o,ered in Holos a centre dedicated to inno3ati3e research of

people’s health at physical energetic emotional mental and

    (. !he scienti)c method

    (.1. De)nition

    Scientics need to follow a

    few directi3es also know as

    the process for

    e-perimentation used to

    disco3er new things and

    pro3ide answers to their

'he scientic method relies on steps which are not always the

same as there is no one single scientic method. E3ery

e-periment is di,erent and may or may not follow the e-act

steps. 'he %asic steps to conduct an e-periment are

    2. Background research is the following step: gather information

    and resources.

(.  'he construction of the hypothesis  (fter data has %een

collected and analy;ed the scientist formulates a hypothesis. It

has to %e constructed in a way that it clearly answers the original

uestion. Formally hypotheses ha3e the form of a mathematical

model or are formulated as an e-istential statement.

*. 'he ne-t step consists in the performance of the e-periment

and collecting data o%tained from it. 'he e-periment has already%een designed in step ! as it has to %e done according to the

hypothesis to get the data needed to test whether your

hypothesis is true or false. It’s important that your e-periment is

a fair test as changing more that one factor may produce

une-pected results. )ne factor is altered during the e-periment

and all other factors are kept same. 'he e-periment must %e

psychological tendency to nd something wrong such as

systematic e,ects with data which do not support the scientistAs

e-pectations while data which do agree with those e-pectations

'he ma0or features of the scientic method are

-/ecti0it  'he scientic method tries to o%tain knowledge

that accord with the reality of the o%0ect which descri%e or

    *. Emoto’s Method.

    *.1. $ow did it a'' egin4

It all started in 199$ when Emoto took samples of water from a

pure water source located in his country fro;e a few droplets

e-amined them under a dark eld electron microscope and

photographed them. )nce the photographs were re3ealed they

for shooting glasses he and his colleagues took pictures one %y

    one and stored information.

    *ater is rapidly changing and

    is unsta%le. Emoto and his

    team put the water samples

    in 1CC +etri dishes and

placed them in a free;er for

    two hours. 'hey took the

    crystals and put them under

    the microscope to

    photograph them e-tending

them from 2CC to CC times.

"istilled water selected as the %asis for the e-periments %ecause

it has a simple crystal structure and fewer impurities.

In order to o%tain a copy of an a3erage crystal they had to

photograph many water samples under as di,erent conditions as

they could imagine. 5or most people it is physically impossi%le to

stay thirty minutes in a refrigerator at degrees %elow ;ero

    taking photographs.

It is impossi%le to o%tain identical images of the crystals. In other

words it is impossi%le to reproduce perfectly the same crystal

twice. Howe3er the crystals can show a trend that can make the

di,erence called crystal sheet structure. It is possi%le to identify

the crystals according to this structural trend.

4ooking at the photograph of a crystal it was of e-treme

of the crystal structures were not a good sign in other words

you could say that his e3aluation criterion was %ased on whether

    Water Tells the Truth

An Exclusive Interview with Dr. Masaru Emoto

    By Michelene K. Bell

    u!lisher, In "i#ht Times

    asaru Emoto was %orn in >okohama in =uly 19$!. He is a

graduate of the >okohama unicipal @ni3ersity’s department of

humanities and sciences with a focus on International /elations.

In 198 he esta%lished the IH #orporation in 'okyo. In )cto%er

of 1992 he recei3ed certication from the )pen International

    @ni3ersity as a "octor of (lternati3e edicine. Su%seuently he

was introduced to the concept of micro cluster water in the @S

and agnetic /esonance (nalysis technology. 'he uest thus

%egan to disco3er the mystery of water.

He undertook e-tensi3e research of water around the planet not

so much as a scientic researcher %ut more from the perspecti3e

of an original thinker. (t length he reali;ed that it was in the

fro;en crystal form that water showed us its true nature. He has

gained worldwide acclaim through his ground%reaking research

and disco3ery that water is deeply connected to our indi3idual

    and collecti3e consciousness.

He is the author of the %estGselling %ooks essages from *ater

'he Hidden essages in *ater and 'he 'rue +ower of *ater. He

is a longGtime ad3ocate for peace in relation to water. He is

currently the head of the I.H.. Jeneral /esearch Institute and

+resident Emeritus of the International *ater for 4ife 5oundation

    a Fot for +rot )rgani;ation.

?B "r. Emoto you are worldGrenowned on your research with

water. *hy this eld of study and when did you start&

"r. Emoto It was 21 years ago. *hile I was playing golf with

(merican scientists my leg %egan to hurt. )ne of them ga3e mea spray %ottle of water and recommended that I spray the water

on the a,ected part of my leg. I followed his ad3ice and the pain

went away rather uickly. 'his intrigued me and was the catalyst

that sparked my interest in water.

    ?B +lease e-plain your method of processing&

"r. Emoto In terms of taking water crystal photos we put a

single drop of water Dour sample onto plastic +etri dishes. *e

prepare C dishes this way. 'hen they are placed in a free;er

with a temperature of G!C degrees for three hours. )ur

researcher takes out each dish from the refrigerator and then in

a cold room of degrees o%ser3es it under a microscope. (t the

appropriate timing as the water crystal de3elops our researchertakes a photograph.

?B How does uantum physics relate to you water studies&

"r. Emoto Because I am a water researcher and not a traditional

scientist I am not an authority on uantum physics. >et I ha3e

read many %ooks on the su%0ect. In uantum physics as Iunderstand it the consciousness of the o%ser3er a,ects the

physical phenomenon of that which is %eing o%ser3ed. Similarly

in water crystal photography the consciousness of the o%ser3er

a,ects the outcome of the e-periments thus a,ecting the shape

    of the crystals.

In this way I %elie3e uantum physicists can study the world of

uantum physics without any huge apparatus and without

    incurring %ig e-penses %y simply utili;ing water crystal

technology to record the uantum e,ects of the o%ser3er.

?B *hat is magnetic resonance and how does it relate to

    water&

"r. Emoto agnetic resonance deals with hydrogen atoms in

water and is a detecta%le magnetic eld. In con3entional

medicine this signal Din the water our %odies are made of can

%e manipulated %y additional magnetic elds to %uild up enough

information to construct an image of the %ody. 'hat is the %asis

for /Is. 'he same applies regarding magnetic resonance in the

waters of the world which through the conducti3ity in it allows

information to %e transmitted. It is a natural state a world of >ing

and >ang plus and minus. (ll water has this property.

?B 'hrough your research what is the most remarka%le

    ndings a%out water&

    "r. Emoto 'his year se3eral scientic disco3eries ha3e shown

that water has memory. ainstream science and recent

documentary lms are contri%uting in spreading this fact to the

general pu%lic. In addition I think what’s fascinating is that water

e-ists in multiple forms. 4iuid gas and solid. It is the only

su%stance that has these properties. It e-ists in many

dimensions so to speak. In the future it will %e more and more

  • 8/16/2019 Masaru Emoto's Water Crystals

    61/131

important for us to use water as a medium to e-change

    information %etween di,erent dimensional states.

?B *hat do you mean when you say water has memory& (re

    you saying it has intelligence&

"r. Emoto *ater has a role to carry information and I don’t think

it has intelligence. In essence water is a mirror of the human

    mind. ( mirror of humanity.

?B >ou mention in L'he essage from *aterM that our words

thoughts emotions sounds music and intentional prayer can

impact water’s structure. So how do words like lo3e peace

gratitude raise the 3i%rations of water&

"r. Emoto I am certain that such words raise the 3i%rations of

water 0ust as they raise the 3i%rations of people. (fter all we are

made of water. I ha3e found that when the 3i%ration is 3ery high

a 3ery delicate form of crystal is o%ser3ed under the microscope.

'he more delicate crystal you nd the higher 3i%ration the water

contains. 'hese words carry a high 3i%ratory signature that when

com%ined with human interaction resonate at a 3ery high le3el.

?B *hat type of words cause the most dramatic changes andhow&

"r. Emoto (s I ha3e e-pressed in my studies it is the words

L4o3e and JratitudeM. 4o3e is an acti3e energy. Jratitude is a

passi3e energy. Jod created these two energies as >ing and >ang

in the %eginning when the world was created. 'herefore when

you present these 3i%rations to water water will respond in a

profound way and show you a 3ery %eautiful shape of a crystal.

  • 8/16/2019 Masaru Emoto's Water Crystals

    62/131

?B >ou speak often of prayer. How does the act of praying

    e,ect water&

"r. Emoto +hysically speaking the power of prayer can %e

e-pressed as EYmc2 where E is total energy m represents the

num%er of people and c is consciousness. *hen the 3i%ration

from this com%ination %ecomes unied it is su%tle and strong. I

    %elie3e there is a supersonic e,ect. It is pro3en %y some

scientists that after water is treated with supersonic wa3es of this

    nature it %ecomes %etter water.

?B )nce we ha3e infused our water say a three gallon

container how long does the water remain changed&

"r. Emoto It depends on the purity of the H(") Dsu%tle energies

    and how the H(") has %een infused. 5or e-ample was it a

human intention like prayer or thought or a mechanical one ormusic or a written word& It will %e di,erent in each case. 5or the

most part water retains the 3i%ration. Howe3er it is %etter to

repeat it for ma-imum retention of H(") energy.

?B *hat happens if we ha3e no thoughts a%out the water we

drink& *here does it t on the scale of %enets&

    "r. Emoto )n a scale of 1 to 1C the %enets %egin when you

focus your thoughts towards the water. 'he greater your

intention the higher the %enet is. Fo thoughts %eing C in added

    %enets and pure sel

"r. Emoto Imagine a lunch%o- lled with grapes. 'hen imagine

another lunch%o- lled with grains of rice. In which lunch%o- is

the conducti3ity higher& It is the one with rice %ecause it is

packed more densely. /egarding water it is water with a higher

conducti3ity in other words water in which information is

transmitted. 'his means that theoretically water with smaller

    clusters is %etter water.

?B *hat words are associated with smaller clusters 3s. larger

    clusters&

"r. Emoto Fegati3e phrases and words will create large clusters

while lo3ing positi3e words and phrases will form %eautiful

crystal clusters. Slang phrases such as Lyou foolM can destroy the

    process of clusters forming.

?B "r. Emoto there is contro3ersy a%out distilled water. (rethere %enets from drinking distilled water&

"r. Emoto +ure distilled water will wash away essential minerals

from the %ody and so it might not %e a good idea to drink only

pure distilled water. >et we ha3e found that distilled water will

accept information more easily. So distilled water with

information which is sometimes called functional water in =apan

not called distilled water anymore can %e a 3ery good water.

?B I %elie3e some of your research included working with

stagnant water. *hat results did you nd and what types of

    water did you test&

"r. Emoto +olluted water is of course stagnant water. In

nature water comes from a source and

ri3er water passes through upstream midstream and
