1.4 FOUNDERS AND HISTORY

Masirah International is a partnership formed in October 2000 by Sultan Mohamed Said Al Humeidi and Jonathan C Turner.

Jonathan C Turner is qualified commercial diver. He has been involved in the marine construction and commercial diving industries in the Middle East for more than 18 years. For the five years prior to forming the partnership he was Operations Manager of a long established marine and diving company in the UAE.

Sultan has been involved with marine transport and plant hire since 1975 and is highly regarded throughout the Gulf Region. He operates five large landing crafts as well as barges and tugboats. His fleet of vessels helps to support Masirah International with an impressive array of different vessels available to the company at any time.

At the end of 2008 a partnership agreement was signed with Sarooj Construction, much increasing our capacity to bid and compete for larger turn-key projects. Now we are in a capacity to quote independently for marine construction projects and other marine services based on the invaluable skills of our experienced employees and resources available to the company.

Whatever you are looking for in the marine industry in the region we would like to help you. Please contact us to see how we can help you to achieve your project.

5 HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYS

Masirah international offers a wide range of hydrographic surveys including bathymetry, side scan, sub bottom profiling, land survey services and Subsea Investigation surveys. At Masirah international we strive to provide our clients with most accurate possible results using the latest equipments and software. The combined experience of the surveying team and marine construction team allows Masirah International to provide the highest quality to our clients giving a meaningful report every time.

At Masirah International, our Engineering and Planning Department offers following subsea investigation services for your project;

5.1 BATHYMETRIC SURVEYS

Masirah International have successfully completed numerous Bathymetric Survey projects recently with our highly advanced bathymetric surveying instruments and produced accurate surveying results confirmed by the various organizations. Some of the Bathymetric Surveying projects completed by Masirah International are;

5.2 SIDE SCAN SURVEYS

Masirah International provides Side Scan Survey Services for its clients. Generally Side Scan Surveys are done for identifications of objects lying on seabed and for condition reporting of sunken vessels.

Side Scan Survey work requires experiences operators with good understanding of sea conditions, Vessel Tracking along with Excellent computing skills by the surveyor. Masirah International recently completed a Side Scan Survey job in Musandam.

5.3 SUB BOTTOM PROFILING SURVEYS

Sub-bottom profiling systems identify and measure various marine sediment layers that exist below the sediment/water interface. High-resolution sub-bottom systems have been used to detect and measure the thickness of dredged material deposits, detect hard substrate that has been covered by sedimentation, identify buried objects (such as cables and pipelines), and define the basement (or bedrock) layer for potential confined aquatic disposal sites for dredged material. Sub bottom Survey is more than just marine investigations. This requires excellent knowledge of using multiple sonar with vessel tracking parameters in control. We have successfully completed a recent Sub Bottom Profiling Survey job in Musandam.
