One of the devotions we can partici-pate in during LENT is meditation on the Stations of the Cross, Our Lord’s journey to crucifixion. Each Friday at 6:30 pm there will be a bilingual meditation on the Stations in church.

Following the Stations, we will gather for a simple supper of MEATLESS SOUP and BREAD. The idea is to donate the amount of money you would have paid for a regular meal, to a fund to Feed the Poor. We hope you will join us in St. Patrick’s Clubhouse, (behind the church) each Friday after Stations, beginning February 28th.

Ash Wednesday Schedule Ashes will be imposed after Mass at the following times, Wed., February 26th. 6:30 and 8:00 am in church in English 5:30 and 7:30 pm in Kavanagh Center, bilingual.

MASS in SWAHILI at ST. ROSE Father Julius Kiagora Kaburu will be celebrating a Mass in the African language, Swahili, next Sunday, March 1st at 2:30 pm. This is a regular liturgy on the first Sunday of each month. All are invited to experi-ence this Mass.

Lenten Regulations + Ash Wednesday is a day of fast (see below) and abstinence (eating no meat). + Everyone over 14 years of age is bound to abstain from meat on all Fridays of Lent. + Everyone over 18 and under 59 years of age is bound to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. On a day of fast, only one full meal is allowed; two smaller meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids are allowed. When health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. If in doubt concerning fast or abstinence, a priest should be consulted. + During Lent, Catholics are encouraged to pray more often. It is the ideal time to receive the sacrament of penance (confession). + Almsgiving, gifts to charity and to the poor are encouraged as a way of sharing God’s gifts to us.
