Pastor’s Corner Corpus Christi Sunday, June 3, 2018

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

Commitment Weekend, June 2 & 3

Last weekend, our entire St. Cecilia’s community listened as various members of our family share their personal testimony in making a sacrificial contribution to our “Living Our Faith Building Our Future” Cam-paign, and I would urge all of you to prayerfully consider doing the same.

Once again, I would like to extend my personal appreciation to David and Peggy Delmastro, Tao and Jasmin Le, Don and Maryanne Kelley, Joe and Shelly McAleer, Xavier and Lupe Fonseca, John and Katherine Trotter, Maricela Moran, Roxanna Payton, and Bill and Sandie Guard, for shar ing their in-dividual stories of supportiveness to our capital campaign.

This weekend, June 2 & 3, is our Commitment Weekend, the culmination of our “Living Our Faith Building Our Future” Campaign. In preparation for this important weekend, and the following ones, I would like to ask each of our families to please consider doing the following:

Kindly take home our official campaign prayer card located in the Church vestibule or printed in our bulletin, and have all members gather together daily to pray for the success of our campaign. It will be an op-portunity for us to gather together to humbly request God’s blessings upon our campaign.

Consider praying to God about the amount that you would like to make to our campaign over the three year pledge period (36 months), starting July 2018 and ending June 2021. Personally, I would like to ask those registered families who haven’t yet pledged to give at least $1 dollar each day during this period. At the end of the campaign, you can be proud of yourselves knowing that you have contributed $1,095 dollars for the campaign. I pray that God grants us at least 2000 families who would consider doing so. When it is possible, of course, I would like you to consider contributing more. Realize that the more we have, the sooner we will be able to build. Believe it when I say that ,with the help of God, we will build a solid faith foundation for the next generation of faithful to stand upon. Know that we are no different, 61 years later, than our founding pastors and parishioners who made the same sacr ifice to invest in building the church, school, hall, kitchen and office that we use today with the same intention - spreading the Gospel of Christ throughout the world.

Last, but not least, we have a dedicated team of volunteers who have been working very hard for the success of our campaign. They have been attempting to reach out to all of you personally to inform you about our “Living Our Faith, Building Our Future” campaign, and invite you to become involved. I ask that you take a moment to reply to their invitation in the coming days. See page 15 for a list of all their names. Join me in thanking them for their zealous service to God and to one another in this evangelizing effort. Thank you so very much! May God bless you and your family and may He reward your generously sacrificial gift. Remember…… God loves you and so do I. As we celebrate the Feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus, let us remind ourselves that we are called to be Christ-bearers and conveyers. as the Heavenly Mother Mary was, with the duty of conveying Christ to oth-ers at home and in the workplace, through love, mercy, forgiveness, humble, generous and sacrificial service. Sincerely yours in Jesus Christ the Most Holy Eucharist on the Altar, Fr. Bao

Padre Bao

O ur Living Our Faith, Building Our Future Campaign’s purpose is to

raise the funds required to build a Meeting and Education Center, an Administration Center, and to remodel the existing offices which will expand the kitchen, upgrade and renovate the restrooms, and create a Youth Center

A minimum goal of $4M has been established, which will enable us to build a Meeting & Education Center.

A challenge goal of $5M has also been set which, if met, will enable us to build the Meeting and Education Center and provide $1M toward the Administration Center. Finally, reaching our ultimate goal of $7M will allow us to build the 2 Centers, build the Administration Center, and remodel the existing offices with a Youth Center, remodeled kitchen, update restrooms. We will also update hall flooring, sound system, as well as add projection capabilities.

Deferred gifts are another option you may wish to consider. These are gifts that can be given or arranged for now, but will not be received until later. They include gifts through a person's will by bequest, gifts of life insurance policies or annuities, and gifts in trust.

Non-cash gifts are an additional or alternative way you can support our cause. You may, for example, wish to consider gifts of securities such as stocks and bonds; gifts of real estate; or even personal property such as artwork, automobiles, jewelry, and antiques.

Pledges payable over three years are easier for many, enable most to make larger gifts than they otherwise might outright, and are therefore essential to meeting our goal. Gifts may be made in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual installments at the donor’s discretion. A 10% initial investment is encouraged.

Pledges Non-Cash Gifts Deferred Gifts

All parish membered families are asked to consider gifts above and beyond what they give in their regular offerings and other contributions. Gifts can be made in a variety of ways:

Capital Campaign - Volunteer News

Please take home our campaign prayer and all family members pray daily for the

success of our campaign.

Campaign Prayer Heavenly Father, whose generosity can-not be outdone, open our hearts to the needs of our parish as we prayerfully dis-cern our generous sacrificial contribu-tion to our capital campaign to expand our Church campus so we may better know, love, and serve You and our neighbor and may fulfill the task of evan-gelization that You have entrusted to us. We ask Your blessings and rewards on those who will donate their prayers, time, talents, and financial resources to this most worthy cause. Through the interces-sion of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Cecilia, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
