St Paul Autumn Glory Card Party was a huge success. We thank Fr. Babu, our Spiritual Advisor, for supporting us and offering the beginning prayer. A thank you to all the Holy Name Men, who are always there to help us, transporting our card tables to and from the cafeteria. A special thank you to the St Paul students that set up the card tables. We thank all the women that baked cakes, worked in the kitchen, and in the hall… To all who donated items for the Chinese Auction and Door prizes, Thank You. We appreciate all that supported the card party by attending, again a full house!!! The two winners of the 50/25/25 raffle are Karen Fisher and Johanna Lewis. Thanks again to all who supported our fund raiser.

Family Faith Formation has begun. You can still register your children in Grades K-6th. If you have a child in 2nd grade in public school and you would like them to receive First Holy Communion, they must be registered. If you have any questions please contact Christy Valero at 740-284-0133 or at [email protected].

The red Sanctuary Lamp by the tabernacle burns to remind us of the sacramental presence of Jesus Christ. It is a mark of honor to remind the faithful of the presence of Christ, and is a profession of their love and affection. If you wish to have the Sanctuary Lamp burning in memory of a loved one, to honor a special occasion, or a special intention make arrangements with the Parish Office. The cost of the candle is $10.00. It will burn for one week. The memorial will be published in the bulletin.

October 15, 2018 - October 19, 2018 Madonna and Steubenville Central Catholic High Schools will compete in WTOV9 Goodwill Drive to Victory during the week of October 15- October 19. Drive to Victory is a friendly competition each week between two local schools that battle off the field in a donation drive benefiting Goodwill of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio. Clothing and other items can be donated at the Goodwill trailer located at each participating high school the week leading up to the big game.

Over the last few weeks, Madonna High School has been busy getting involved in the community. Our staff volunteered to cook and serve food at the Table of Hope. They do this every fourth Wednesday of the month. The Interact Club collected over 100 cups of mac and cheese for the Feed for Success Backpack Program and last week held a collection of different items for the Table of Hope. The students and staff also helped support the Weirton United Way by holding a “Fee Dress Day” where a $2 donation allowed them to wear a Madonna t-shirt and jeans. The Blue Don Football Team will be playing their Homecoming game Saturday, October 13th at 1pm. Come out and support the Blue Dons!

Who owns you when medical decisions are made? The Baby Gard case from Great Britain raises serious issues about this question. Come to the Annual Convention of West Virginians for Life to hear Nancy Valko, R.N., speaker and writer on medical ethics. The convention will be held at Trinity Assembly of God, 70 Maranatha Drive, Fairmont, WV on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 10 to 3. The annual Teen Day Camp will also be held and childcare will be available upon request in advance. For info: 304-594-9845. Thank you!

Our sympathies go out to the family and friends of Theodore

Kolanko who died this past week.
