  • Testing Testing and standards

  • Testing Heat Pumps STIEBEL ELTRON

    Company Presentation STIEBEL ELTRON 18

› Most important test standards for Hydronic heat pumps:

› HP Keymark New standardised test reports for a heat pump in the European market › DIN EN 14511 European test standards for heat pumps, A/C’s and chillers › EHPA seal of quality Going further than DIN EN14511. Defines minimal COP’s, measures

efficiency and noise emissions within +/- 5% tolerance

  • Testing Heat Pumps STIEBEL ELTRON

    Company Presentation STIEBEL ELTRON 19

    › Impressions test facilities:

Climatic chamber Air sourced heat pump (NTB Buchs)

Sound emissions testing Domestic hot water heat pump

  • Noise emissions: Look beyond the data sheet! STIEBEL ELTRON

    Company Presentation STIEBEL ELTRON 20

› Sound power vs sound pressure:

    • Sound power level (Lw) is measured dB to test standards in a sound lab.

    • Sound pressure level (Lp) is measured on site. Related to orientation, situation, distance and sound power level

› Regularities and laws: • Both values can’t be directly compared without further information • Relations are logarithmical not linear • Duplicating the distance to the source reduces sound pressure level

for 6 dB • 10 dB difference is perceived as double the noise • Using two identical units will be 3 dB louder than just one

  • Case study with real time data – what's possible today? STIEBEL ELTRON

    Company Presentation STIEBEL ELTRON 21
