1 RULES

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).1.2 The class rules of the IECU and the IECU Rules for Major Events will apply. 1.3 RRS Appendix T, Arbitration, may apply.1.4 RRS Appendix P, as changed by class rule 4.2, will apply. 1.5 RRS 77 and Appendix G will strictly apply. 1.6 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take prece.

3 [NP] [DP] ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

3.1 World Sailing eligibility as described in World Sailing Regulation 19 is required for all competitors. Only currently fully paid members of their National Europe Class Association and may enter the regatta. The Master European Championship is an Open Event. 3.2 For the Master European Championship male participants must have been born in 1985 or earlier (will be 35 in 2020), female participants must have been born in 1990 or earlier (will be 30 in 2020).

3.3 Competitors shall either have a valid sailing license of the DSV, „Youth sailor license“, „Sport sailor license“ or a valid official license prescribed or recommended for the sailing area. Members of other national federations shall have an adequate sailing license of their national authority.

4 FEE

Entries shall be done online through our website: www.bigineurope2020.de/registration Entries for the Master European Championship must be sent before May 31st 2020 and paid before June 10th 2020. They shall be made by the sailors directly. If the minimum number is not achieved, the Organizer might cancel the Master European Championship. In such case, paid entry fees will be reimbursed.4.1 The Organization of the Master European Championship is subject to a minimum number of entries of 25 sailors entered before the Master‘s Entry Limit on May 31st 2020. 4.2 Entry fee for the Master European Championship is 125 €. The entry fee includes the “social event”. 4.3 The Organizing Committee has the right to accept entries received after this date. If late entries were accepted, an extra payment of 50% will be required.4.4 Registration deadline will be at 11:00 on July 30th, 2020 for the Master European Championship. Registration made after this deadline will not be accepted. 4.5 The fees shall be paid on the account of RSVM at Müritz-Sparkasse, IBAN: DE02150501000641004079 BIC: NOLADE21WRN, Please include sailors name and sail number in your payment advice.

5 SCHEDULE

5.1 The registration for competitors is scheduled as follows: Masters European Championship Wednesday, July 29th 2020 0900 hrs - 1800 hrs Thursday, July 30th 2020 0900 hrs - 1100 hrs5.2 Each competitor shall personally register and sign the registration form at the Race Office 5.3 On registration all participants will be required to show: - Evidence of current membership of their National Europe Class Association. - Evidence of date of birth (passport, national identity card or driving license). - A valid Measurement Certificate as required by the class rules. - Minimum third-party liability insurance cover of 1.500.000 €. 5.3 [NP] The schedule of races and dates of racing is as follows: Masters European Championship Thursday, July 30th 2020 2 races Friday, July 31st 2020 2 races Saturday, August 01st 2020 2 races Sunday, August 02nd 2020 2 races5.4 Number of races 8 races in total are planned with a maximum of 3 races per day.5.5 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the races Masters European Championship July 30th 2020 1300 hrs July 31st 2020 1100 hrs August 01st 2020 1100 hrs August 02nd 2020 1100 hrs

6 [NP] [DP] MEASUREMENT

6.1 At any time the Technical Committee may require boats for inspection. Boats shall be presented fully rigged with all control lines in position. 6.2 Buoyancy, wet clothing, measurement and equipment checks may be made throughout the Regatta at the discretion of the IECU Representative, Race Committee, Technical Committee or the International Jury. 6.3 No first measurements will be made.

7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

7.1 The Sailing Instructions will be available at Registration in the Race Office.

8 VENUE

8.1 The Addenda B and C show the location of the regatta harbour.8.2 The Race Office is located at the regatta harbour, shown in addendum B.8.3 The racing area will be on Lake MÜRITZ, shown in addendum C.

9 COURSES

9.1 The courses will be defined in the Sailing Instructions.

10 PROTEST COMMITTEE

10.1 The members of the Protest Committee will be notified on the arrival day.

11 SCORING

11.1 Three valid races are required to constitute Championship. 11.2 There will be separate rankings for each Men and Women division. 11.3 If there are more than 80 participants in a division, the participants might be divided into further fleets. The composition of the fleets will be made as described in the Sailing Instructions. 11.4 The Low-Point Scoring System (RRS Appendix A) will be applied. (a) When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. (b) When from 4 to 8 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

12 [DP] BERTHING

12.1 Boats shall be kept in their assigned places in the harbour.

13 [DP] BOATS AND EQUIPMENT

13.1 All competitors may enter only one hull, two sails, one mast, one boom, one center board, one rudder and one rudder head. 13.2 In the event of damage, boats and equipment may only be substituted with the written permission of the Race Committee. If the damage occurs later than 90 minutes before the first scheduled start on a racing day and before the start of the last

race of the day, Provisional verbal permission shall be obtained from the Regatta Measurer or Race Committee. The written permission shall be applied for before the end of the Protest Time at the day in which the substitution takes place.

14 [DP] RADIO COMMUNICATION

14.1 Except in an emergency, a boat that is racing shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communication that is not available to all boats.

15 PRIZES

According to the IECU Rules for Mayor Events (R.1.7.), the first European qualified sailor in the overall result in both Men and Woman division of the following categories: Men (born in 1985 or earlier and woman born in 1990 or earlier) Grand Master (born in 1970 or earlier) Super Master (born in 1960 or earlier) Legends (born in 1950 or earlier) will receive the “Gold medal” and be considered European Champion of their Category and Division. The second will receive the “Silver medal” and the third the “Bronze medal”.

16 SUPPORT BOATS AND SUPPORT PERSONNEL

16.1 Coaches and supporters must register at the race office showing the following documents: - engine registration document of the rib (engine brand name - engine serial number); - current insurance of the engine; 16.2 All support boats are given a NUMBER from Race Office to be displayed visible at all times while afloat.16.3 Support boats with team leaders, coaches and other support personnel shall stay outside areas where boats are racing from the time of the starting sequence until all boats have finished or the race committee signals a postponement, general recall or abandonment. Support boats shall comply with any reasonable request from a regatta official. 16.4 The registration fee of each Coach boat is 60,00 € to be paid cash at race office.

17 MEDIA RIGHTS, CAMERAS AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

17.1 By participating of the Master European Championship, competitors automatically grant to the Organizing Authority and their sponsors the right in perpetuity to make, use and show, from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproductions of the athlete during the period of the competition without compensation.17.2 Boats may be required to carry cameras, sound equipment and positioning equipment as specified and supplied by the organizing authority. 17.3 Competitors may be required to be available for interviews at the regatta.

18 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

18.1 The responsibility for the decision of the person in charge to participate in a race or to continue with it is solely with him,to that extent he also takes the responsibility for his crew. The helmsman is responsible for the qualification a the correct nau- tical conduct of his crew as well as for the suitability and the transport-safe condition of the registered boat. In cases of Force Majeure or on grounds of administrative orders or for safety reasons the organizer is entitled to make changes in the realization of the event or to cancel the event. In these cases there does not exist any liability for compensation of the organizer to the participant. In case of a violation of obligations that do not constitute primary respectively material con- tractual duties (cardinal obligations), the liability of the organizer, no matter because of which cause in law, for material and property damages of all kinds and their consequences that arise to the participant during or in connection with the par-

ticipation in the event resulting from a conduct of the organizer, his representatives, servants or agents, is restricted to damages that were caused willfully or grossly negligent. When a violation of cardinal obligations occurs, in cases of simple negligence the liability of the organizer is limited to foreseeable, typically occurring damages. To the extent that the liability for damages of the organizer is excluded or restricted, the participant also relieves the staff – employees and representati- ves, agents, servants, sponsors and individuals who provide or drive salvage, safety or rescue vessels or assist with their use - from the individual liability for damages, as well as also all other individuals who were instructed to act in connection with the realization of the event. 18.2 The effective racing rules of World Sailing, the class rules as well as the regulations of the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions are to be complied with and are expressly recognized. 18.3 The German law shall prevail.18.4 All participants and crew shall sign the form of disclaimer of liability and copyright at registration.

19 [DP] INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid and for the racing area suitable third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1,500,000 € per incident or the equivalent. The proof of insurance has to be presented at the registration.

20 DATA PROTECTION NOTES

The data of the regatta participants (name, club, placement) can be published by the organizing club on notices as well as on its website. The hosting club also reserves the right to pass on the above data to the press, print or telemedia. This applies equally to photos and other digital data of the participants that were taken in connection with the event. We refer you to the privacy statement in Appendix 1.

21 FURTHER INFORMATIONS

Accomodation and Food There is a limited space on the harbor for caravans and tents, Tickets can be collected at the race office and should be visible outside the caravan/ tent.

You will be able to book breakfast and “make-your-own-packed-lunch-from-buffet” at 8,50 € per day. Please book it within 1st july on the registration site. All meals are served in the boat hall. Appendix 1

PRIVACY DECLARATION FOR THE PARTICIPATION IN A REGATTA

§ 1 GENERAL

The staging of a regatta by the Röbeler Sailing Club „Müritz“ e.V., Müritzpromenade 20 in 17207 Röbel / Müritz (hereinafter „we“ or „RSV „) necessitates the collection of data from all participants. Irrespective of whether you have registered by internet, by e-mail or in hard copy form, the protection of your personal information is of paramount im portance to us. Therefore, we would like to inform you exactly which personal data provided by you is collected, further processed or otherwise used (collectively referred to as „processing“) by us for the purposes of documenting our regatta.

§ 2 RESPONSIBLE BODY

The RSV is responsible for the processing of personal data in the context of regatta participation. Further information about us, e.g. an e-mail address, can be found under para. 7 b of this declaration as well as the imprint on our website (www.rsvm.de).

§ 3 PURPOSE AND LEGAL BASIS OF DATA PROCESSING

Insofar as personal data of participants is processed within the framework of the regatta participation, this is done for the performance and documentation of the regatta as well as for the fulfillment of our obligations towards class associations, the German Sailing Association or the respective national sailing associations. In addition, we may use your perso- nal information in the context of fraud prevention and as evidence. Personal Data used for generating statistics (e.g. about the development of the number of participants) is strictly anonymized. The anonymized data and statistics are used solely for the respectively stated purposes. Where not specifically otherwise justified in the body of this statement, the legal basis for the processing of your personal data in the context of regatta participation is Article 6 para. 1 (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation („GDPR“). Should we use the data to prevent or to prove misuse, this is done on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR). Please note that we will possibly be unable to process your registration if you do not provide us with the relevant personal data, the consequence of which will be that you will not be able to participate in the regatta. Insofar as you have given us consent for the processing of personal data for specific purposes (Article 6 para. 1 (a), 7 GDPR, e.g. for the production and publication of photos), we may process the data because your consent constitutes permission. You can revoke such consent at any time. Please note that the revocation affects only future activities. Any processing prior to the revoca- tion is not affected.

§ 4 RELEVANT DATA

We process all data which you register and provide in the course of your registration for the regatta. These are data from the following categories: Master data (such as name, address, year of birth), boat number including national identification, club membership or other information voluntarily given by you. We only process photos / videos of you in the event that you (or your parents on your behalf) have separately and specifically given us permission.

§ 5 COMMUNICATION OF YOUR DATA

Responsible Persons To the extent that we are permitted, due to your participation in the regatta and by way of your consent or due to legal regulations, we communicate your data to third parties for the performance of the regatta. These third parties then process your data under their own responsibility. The following persons and addressees, for example, can thus

receive your data: - Adjudication officials or judges commissioned by us for the performance of the regatta. - Class associations, German Sailing Association, national sailing associations (e.g. for the purposes of ranking). - Public bodies and institutions (such as regulatory authorities) where a legal or regulatory obligation exists. Other data recipients may be those for whom you have given us your consent to communicate the data.

When implementing and documenting the regatta, we engage external service providers who process personal data on our behalf („processor“). Specifically, this includes companies in the following categories: - Technical service providers in the areas of IT and telecommunications (for example, hosting providers), print service providers. - Media and marketing service providers (e.g., web agencies, web designers). - Photographers / camera staff.

§ 6 COMMUNICATION OF YOUR DATA

Your personal data is stored by us as far as and as long as this may be necessary in the context of the performance and documentation of the regatta or other processing purposes for which you have given your consent (e.g. photo use). In any event, the data is stored until the expiry of any appeal periods for protests in the context of the regatta or as long as your consent for the use of your personal data in the form of photos / videos of you remains valid. Result lists are stored until at least the end of the calendar year in which the respective regatta took place. Should statutory or contractual retenti- on periods, requiring further storage of your data as part of regatta participation, prevail beyond this point in time, we will also retain your data for these purposes beyond the end of the calendar year. Data for which there is no statutory or contractual retention obligation beyond the calendar year of the regatta date will be anonymized, unless you have express- ly and concretely agreed to the further use of your data. Data for which no anonymization is possible is then destroyed or deleted.

§ 7 YOUR RIGHTS

A) Right to Information, correction, restriction, deletion and communication

Upon request, we‘ll be happy to tell you which personal information is being processed by us. Should the data stored by us be erroneous, you are entitled to appropriate correction. You also have the right to block and delete the data stored by us, should the purpose for the processing of the data cease to exist or should other legal requirements prevail. In the event that the deletion contradicts legal or contractual retention or other statutory reasons, access to your data can be blocked but the data cannot be deleted. In addition, you have a right to have your data sent to you.

B) Right of objection You have the right, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of your perso- nal data taking place on the basis of a balance of interests (Article 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR). Should you file an objection, we will not process your personal information unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for processing which outweigh your interests, rights and liberty, or for the purposes of asserting, pursuing or defending legal claims. The objec- tion can be made free form.
