Business Project Management Develop and apply expert judgement in the selection, implementation and development of sustainability assessment tools that meet project needs. This course will allow you to consider building sustainability assessment tools through a critical lens, by developing knowledge of fundamental sustainability concepts then applying this knowledge to evaluate the tools themselves.

Strategic Operations and Supply Chain Management

Analyse how the performance of supply chains impacts on stakeholders and learn ways to develop appropriate strategies to maximise the generated value. This course focuses on the development of organisational strategy, utilising both local and international case studies, while exploring the three critical areas of strategic operations and supply chain management – supply chain operations, integration and collaboration, and virtual supply chains.

Logistics in Practice Evaluate the range of factors that contribute to effective and efficient supply chain and logistics operations. You’ll be introduced to the processes and associated issues of logistics management in a number of supply chain areas. The complexity of supply chain relationships, best practices and the role of information and technology in operations as well as a range of logistics theories and concepts will be explored.

Course descriptionsSupply Chain Principles

Be introduced to the basic concepts and principles of supply chain management and logistics, with a focus on operational excellence, supply chain integration/collaboration and virtual supply chains. By exploring inventory management, just-in-time and e-supply chain techniques, you’ll develop an understanding of the supply chain principles. Using case studies, you’ll also discuss issues which affect organisations’ supply chain including integration, coordination and collaboration.

Business Analytics Be introduced to the concepts, fundamentals and tools for collecting and analysing big data in business. In this course, you will learn how data can be used to drive decision-making through statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modelling and fact-based management. You will develop, evaluate and analyse core analytic techniques and skills that are applicable to contemporary business management and decision-making. No matter what your business focus, you and/or your business will be a future user of analytics.

Supply Chain Modelling and DesignThis course extends the data analytics covered in Business Analytics with an emphasis on logistics supply chain contexts. With increasing customer expectations and the massive flow of data throughout supply chains, the ability to make decisions is growing more complicated. Supply chain is in a unique position in the cost structure and operations of a business to identify opportunities for savings and efficiencies, using real-time data to deliver analytical insights so that the enterprise remains competitive.

Discussion boards

Students can utilise the online forum to introduce themselves to each other and to course instructors. This is where students can form ‘study groups’ and find information about course topics, teachers, content, assignment key dates and grading considerations.

These sessions are available for review purposes and to bridge gaps between the content and student comprehension. With at least one per seven-week course, they are scheduled well in advance to facilitate student planning. Times are rotated to accommodate students in multiple time zones and sessions are recorded.

Learning materials consist of a variety of components including video, text-based content, animations and more. Each week’s content is clearly presented and linked to stated learning objectives, as well as overall course goals. This provides an environment where students can monitor their progress and prepare for upcoming concepts and learnings.

While you will have no formalised on-campus exams, all RMIT postgraduate programs include rigorous assessments in the form of case studies, reports, online discussion interaction and engagement. This ensures that all learning is valuable, authentic and applicable to your work immediately. There may be some tests, quizzes or other online assessments, however you will not have to attend traditional on-campus examinations.

Each student will have a dedicated advisor via our study concierge service to help guide and motivate you through coursework, enabling you to manage your study/work/life balance, and help keep you informed of re-enrolment for upcoming study periods. This one-on-one support continues through to graduation.

The discussion boards are open throughout the duration of each course, and help promote critical thinking and interaction. Instructors utilise tagging/reply features to ensure that all students get important program and course notifications. Discussions are created and moderated by the course instructor or section instructor, and can be included in participation grades.
