Who Should Use MasterCard Brand Marks

TheMasterCardBrandMarkisusedbyMasterCard,itsissuers,acquirers,co-brandpartners,andtheir

communicationsresources.

1. Color Versions

Whetherinprintoron-screen,usetheColor VersionsoftheBrandMarkwheneverpossible.

Thecolorversionsareprintedinmatchcolors,processcolors,processplusmatchcolors,orused

on-screeninRGBorhexadecimalcolor.Colorversionsprintedoncardsmustbeprintedinmatchcolors.

2. Grayscale Version

Use the GrayscaleVersionoftheBrandMarkinprintonlywhentechnicallimitationsprohibitthe

useoffull-colorreproduction.

3. Solid & Outline Versions

Whenit’snotpossibletouseeitherthecolororgrayscaleversionsoftheBrandMarkbecauseof

limitedreproductioncapabilities,useeithertheSolid or Outline Version.

1. Minimum Brand Requirements

WhenaMasterCardproductaccountnumberisrepresentedinadigitalwalletorothermobile

paymentapplication,afull-colorMasterCardBrandMarkorafull-colorimageofaMasterCardcard

mustappearinproximitytotheaccountrepresentationinordertoprovideclearbrandidentification.

MasterCardproductbrandingmustappearinthefollowinglocationswithintheuserinterface(UI):

1. Whenactivatinganaccount

2. Whenselectingcredentials/anaccountforpayment

3. Whenviewingaccountdetails

4. Whencompletingtheuseofcredentials/anaccountinatransaction

AlluserinterfacesaresubjecttoMasterCardreviewandapproval.

2. Using a MasterCard Card Image

AMasterCardcardimagemaybeusedinlieuoftheMasterCardBrandMarkbutstillmustappearin

thelocationsdescribedabove.

Cardimagesmustconformtothefollowingstandards:

1. AcardimagemaybeanexactreplicaofthecorrespondingphysicalcardprovidedallMasterCardbranding

elementsareincludedandpersonalizationelementssuchasaccountnumberhavebeentruncatedorremoved.

2. AcardimagemaybeagenericrepresentationofaMasterCardcardprovidedallMasterCard

brandingelementsaresizedandpositionedperphysicalcarddesignstandards.

3. Acardimagemaydepartfromconventionalphysicalcardlayoutanddesign.Forexample,a

squareicon-styleimagecouldbeusedprovidedminimumbrandmarksizerequirementsaremet.

4. IftheaccountisNFC-enabled,theEMVCoContactlessIndicator(3)mustbeincludedonthecardimage

orincloseproximitytothecardimage.TheContactlessIndicatormustbeatleast7.0mm(0.28")high

andmustappearinasolidcolorthatprovidesthebestcolorcontrastandlegibilityagainsttheselected

backgroundcolor.Optimalcolorsincludeblack,white,grayorotherneutralcolors.Theminimumclear

spacearoundallfoursidesoftheIndicatorshouldbeequaltothefullheightofthesecondsemicircle

fromtheleft(ContactyourMasterCardRepresentativeformoreinformation).

Use with Other Brand Marks

TheMasterCardBrandMarkmustbepresentedatparitywithallotherequivalentbrandmarksdepicted

inthedigitalwallet.Forexample,theMasterCardBrandMarkmustbeatleastasprominentas,

andappearinatleastthesamesize,levelofcolorreproduction,andfrequencyasallotherequivalent

brandmarksappearinginthesamedigitalwallet.
