TheMasterCard®BrandMarkmayappearonlyinapprovedversions.Choiceofversiondependsonapplication,budgetconstraints,technicallimitations,andreproductionsize.

Who Should Use MasterCard Brand Marks

TheMasterCardBrandMarkisusedbyMasterCard,itsissuers,acquirers,co-brandpartners,andtheir

communicationsresources.

NOTE:ForallapplicationssignifyingMasterCardacceptance,usetheMasterCard

AcceptanceMark.RefertotheAcceptanceMarkStandardsforadditionalinformation.

1. Color Versions

Whetherinprintoron-screen,usetheColor VersionsoftheBrandMarkwheneverpossible.

Thecolorversionsareprintedinmatchcolors,processcolors,processplusmatchcolors,orused

on-screeninRGBorhexadecimalcolor.Colorversionsprintedoncardsmustbeprintedinmatchcolors.

2. Grayscale Version

Use the GrayscaleVersionoftheBrandMarkinprintonlywhentechnicallimitationsprohibitthe

useoffull-colorreproduction.

3. Solid & Outline Versions

Whenit’snotpossibletouseeitherthecolororgrayscaleversionsoftheBrandMarkbecauseof

limitedreproductioncapabilities,useeithertheSolid or Outline Version.

Ensuring Consistent Presentation

StandardsandartworkfortheMasterCardBrandMarkhavebeendevelopedforusebyMasterCard,its

merchants,issuers,acquirers,co-brandpartners,andtheircommunicationresources.Nootherstandards

orartworkshouldbeusedtorepresenttheMasterCardbrand.

1. Match Colors

TheMatchColorversionoftheMasterCardBrandMarkispreferredforreproductioninallprint

mediawhenthebranddoesnotsignifyacceptance,andisrequiredwhentheBrandMarkisprinted

incoloroncards.

2. Process Colors

TheFour-colorProcessversionoftheMasterCardBrandMarkmaybeusedwhenmatchcolorsare

notavailable.

3. RGB Colors

TheRGBColorversionoftheMasterCardBrandMarkmustbeusedforwebsitesandallother

on-screenapplications.Hexadecimalvaluesareprovidedtoassistwithcolormatchingofothertext

to the Brand Mark.

Minimum Size

Becauseofreproductionlimitations,minimumsizesfortheBrandMarkshavebeencreatedforprint

andon-screenuse.StandardsprovidedforMinimumSizemustbefollowedcarefully.

Background Colors

TheBrandMarksmaybeusedonawiderangeofBackgroundColorsprovidedthereissufficient

contrastbetweenthebackgroundcolorandtheBrandMark.

Avoiding Common Mistakes

ConsistentreproductionoftheMasterCardBrandMarkisvitalforrecognition.CommonMistakes have

anegativeimpactontheMasterCardbrand.

1. The MasterCard Interlocking Circles Device

TheMasterCardInterlockingCirclesDevice,aregisteredtrademarkofMasterCardInternational

Incorporated,isafeaturecommontotheMasterCardfamilyofBrandMarks.Thisdistinguishing

device,combinedwithaunifiedcolorpalette,enhancesthevisuallinkbetweenourbrands.

2. The “MasterCard” Name in Custom Lettering

The“MasterCard”brandnameisaregisteredtrademarkofMasterCardInternationalIncorporated.

Itiscomprisedofcustom-drawnletterforms,inasizerelationshipdesignedtoheightentheimpact

oftheMasterCardbrand.Thiscustom-drawnartworkmustnotbealteredinanyway.

3. The MasterCard Drop Shadow

Inadvertising,marketing,andcommunicationsmaterialsnotsignifyingacceptance,thedrop

shadowmayappearinMasterCardDarkBlueorBlack.Blackisthepreferredcolorforthedrop

shadowwhenprintinginfour-colorprocess,butMasterCardDarkBluemaybesimulatedinan

approvedFour-colorProcess printingsituation.

4. The ® and / or ™ Trademark Symbols

The®and/or™trademarksymbols(ortheirlocallawequivalents)mustbeused.Theyshould

remainattherelativesizeprovidedintheauthorizedartworkfilesandbescaledproportionally

withtheBrandMarkeventhoughtheirlegibilitymaybecompromisedwhentheBrandMarkisat

verysmallsizesorreproducedincertainmedia.Thesymbolsshouldnotbeenlargedindependently

toincreaselegibility.

5. Minimum Free Space

TheMasterCardBrandMarkisavaluableassetthatalwaysmustappearinanunclutteredspacefree

oftext,taglines,logotypes,shapes,andstrongbackgroundpatterns.AlwayssurroundtheBrand

Markwithsufficientfreespace,whichataminimummustequalone-halftheheightofoneofthe

circlesintheBrandMark.

2. Using a MasterCard Card Image

AMasterCardcardimagemaybeusedinlieuoftheMasterCardBrandMarkbutstillmustappearin

thelocationsdescribedabove.

Cardimagesmustconformtothefollowingstandards:

1. AcardimagemaybeanexactreplicaofthecorrespondingphysicalcardprovidedallMasterCardbranding

elementsareincludedandpersonalizationelementssuchasaccountnumberhavebeentruncatedorremoved.

2. AcardimagemaybeagenericrepresentationofaMasterCardcardprovidedallMasterCard

brandingelementsaresizedandpositionedperphysicalcarddesignstandards.

3. Acardimagemaydepartfromconventionalphysicalcardlayoutanddesign.Forexample,a

squareicon-styleimagecouldbeusedprovidedminimumbrandmarksizerequirementsaremet.

4. IftheaccountisNFC-enabled,theEMVCoContactlessIndicator(3)mustbeincludedonthecardimage

orincloseproximitytothecardimage.TheContactlessIndicatormustbeatleast7.0mm(0.28")high

andmustappearinasolidcolorthatprovidesthebestcolorcontrastandlegibilityagainsttheselected

backgroundcolor.Optimalcolorsincludeblack,white,grayorotherneutralcolors.Theminimumclear

spacearoundallfoursidesoftheIndicatorshouldbeequaltothefullheightofthesecondsemicircle

fromtheleft(ContactyourMasterCardRepresentativeformoreinformation).
