Course objectives

Complete macroscopic clearance is one of the most important prognostic factors for

survival of patients with advanced ovarian cancer. The BOCS Masterclass was

established with the objective to teach the surgical anatomy, the operative techniques

and the way to avoid and manage complications of radical ovarian debulking surgery.

The aim of the three-step programme for Consultants and Trainees is to share the

Birmingham philosophy and technique for the management of patients with advanced

ovarian cancer.

1. Basic and Advanced Surgical Anatomy CourseTo build strong foundations for advanced oncological surgery on fresh frozen

cadavers.

2. Live Theatre CourseTo experience the dynamics of live ovarian cancer surgery with additional

lectures and videos.
