• What will MAC do – MAC is the tool that communicates all Materials

Related information – LIMS does it all today, but MAC will tie it all

together in a way we can’t do with LIMS • Ultimately Feed all data to:

– Final Project Materials Certification – Long Term Performance

• Why are we doing this – LIMS is nearing 15 year life cycle

• Old technology is not flexible enough to meet the needs of new business requirements

– LIMS will no longer be supported by consultant who developed it

– MAC will be an FDOT Enterprise Application • Full Support of FDOT BSSO • More flexible, easier to change than LIMS

• When – LIMS support stops June 30, 2015 – MAC is scheduled to be implemented in

conjunction with the Department losing support for LIMS

• Where will MAC be used – We’re using MAC to address “where” -

connectivity concerns

tie information to a specific company • User Profiles – can enter data on any sample under that
