28th Sunday in Ordinary Time

God offers us the

perspective of

eternity.

In a secular world, so many people today have a limited perspective, valuing and pursuing what they see before their eyes and what benefits them in this present life. God calls us, as follow-ers of Jesus, to take the longer view: to pursue eternal values, trusting that God will also give us what we need here and now.

Do You Need An

‘Easy Access’ Sunday Mass?

Your Feedback Is Important!

A proposal was made at the last Pastoral Coun-cil Meeting to celebrate the 12:30 PM Sunday Mass in the Lower Chapel. This change would be open to all, and would especially accommo-date many of our Parishioners who have trouble getting into the Upper Church. To further the “easy access” concept, it was also suggested that a pew be removed from the Blessed Mother’s side of the Lower Chapel to provide more room for wheel chairs and walkers (a pew on St. Joseph’s side already provides these ac-commodations). Your feedback to this concept is essential and can be made by contacting the Rectory during Office Hours at 215-673-8127.

Parishioners buried from our Church are espe-cially remembered at this Mass. Those buried from our Church since October 2017 will be included in our program.

However, not all our parishioners and benefac-tors were buried from here, and we may not know of their deaths. If your loved one passed away since October 2017 and you would like him/her included in our program, please contact the Rectory (215-673-8127) during Office Hours as soon as possible. Please give the de-ceased’s name and date of death.

A family member is invited to carry a candle (provided) in the Entrance Procession in mem-ory of their deceased loved ones. Please meet in the Main Vestibule prior to Mass.

• Persons baptized in a different religion who would like to become Catholic;

• Persons baptized in the Catholic Church but who did not receive First Communion or Confirmation;

• Persons baptized Catholic who would like to know more about their faith.

If you or a friend is interested in receiving the Sacra-ments of Initiation or want to learn more about the Catholic Faith, call Sr. Mary Beth Geraghty, 215-605-5664, Deacon Lindsay, 267-266-2201, or Father Jo-seph, 215-673-8127.

LITTLE CHURCH SCHOOL This program has begun and will continue throughout the school year. Parents drop off their children at 9:15 AM at the Convent. This allows parents to attend the 9:30 AM Mass, while their little ones participate in a “Seeds” and “Promise” program designed for their specific age groups: 3 & 4 year olds, and 5 year olds & Kindergarten. This catechetical program is held in the Pre-K classrooms in the Convent and includes religious story time, songs and activities based on the Sun-day Gospels. After the 9:30 AM Mass, parents promptly pick up their children.

Adults and high school and college students are needed as teachers and aides for this

program. This is not a weekly commitment. Volunteers will be scheduled throughout the school year. Contact Sr. Mary Beth

at 215-673-4010.
