30th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Relationship with the Lord requires us
to recognize our dependence on Him.
While pride is the root of all sin, humility is the soil in which a life of virtue can grow. The more we recognize our need for God and His Mercy, the more we can open our-selves up to the grace He wishes to give us. When we think of our selves and not God, we close ourselves off to His saving Mercy and Grace.

This catechetical program is held in the Pre-K class-rooms in the Convent and includes Religious story time, songs and activities based on the Sunday Gospels. After the 9:30 Mass, parents promptly pick up their children.
Adults and high school and college students are greatly needed as teachers and aides for this program. This is not a weekly commitment. Vol-unteers will be scheduled throughout the school year. Contact Sr. Mary Beth at 215-673-4010.

Maternity B.V.M. School: 150th Video History Project In the celebration of the Parish’s 150th Anniversary the School will be producing a series of videos. The 150th Anniversary Video History Project started last year. Each class was assigned a decade to investigate and gather information from 1870 to present day. This research included topics from the world, our country, our state of Pennsylvania, our city of Philadelphia, sports (local & national), pop culture, fashion and the Parish’s rich history and its effect on the Bustleton area of Philadelphia. The research was completed last year and the script developed over the summer months. Each episode, filmed in broadcast news style, will feature the class that did the research.
The videos will be released throughout the first part of the year on the School’s Web site and Facebook page. On January 26, the videos will then come alive in a Living History Show to kick-off our Catholic Schools Week Celebration. Visit us on our School’s Web site: www.maternitybvm.net or Facebook: Maternity BVM School.
