Applications for the 2019 contest are available online starting August 5, 2019 at enf.elks.org/mvs. Applications are due online on or before November 5, 2019. Another scholarship opportunity exists for college bound high school seniors, who are chil- dren or grandchildren of dues-paying Elks. Applications for the Legacy scholarship must be submitted online and are available now at enf.elks.org/leg. Veterans Chest As always, the need is here to help those that have served us. Remember we need clean socks (new), hats, gloves, underwear, movies, and games. I have been advised they are in need of paper towels, toilet paper, and laundry detergent as their food stamps will not allow these purchases. The guys really need our help. At the present time they have plenty of playing cards. If there are any questions I would be happy to explain what is accepted; not that they aren't happy with all you have done for them. We would like to thank everyone who donated to the Elks State Major Project,Cerebral Palsy! Specifically, the Friday Night Dance Committee, the Lady Elks, the 150Club, the fall Golf Outing, the PER Association and all those who donated through thecoin banks. A heartfelt thank you to you all!

The new 2020 Ohio Buckeye Bucks calendars are at the lodge, they make greatstocking stuffers! To get one, please see an officer or visit the office, they are $20 each.

As a reminder, Tuesday night entertainment is back at the Lodge. Many thanks toSandy Ellsworth and Sherry Dearth for spearheading this and making it all happen. Theyare bringing in entertainers on the second and third Tuesdays of each month from Sept– Dec. Starting in January 2020, it will happen once monthly. Please check the calendaror the signs around the lodge to see who’s playing.

The lodge is looking for medical supplies such as wheelchairs, walkers, bathtub seatsand canes to have on hand if and when we need them for our members. We ask thatthey be clean and in good condition. So, if you have any of these items that are no longerneeded, please bring them to the lodge to share. We will store them in the building.Thank you.

Lady Elks NewsI hope all that attended our October meeting found it very informative. A representa-

tive from H.O.O.V.E.S. was on hand to give us information on how their organizationhelps our veterans reenter society after active duty. If anyone was not able to attend butwould like more information or would like to become a volunteer. Please let me know.

On Tuesday, November 5th, we will be hosting a wine tasting. This event will be opento all Elk members and their guests. The cost will be $10 per person. You must sign upfor this event. Sign up sheets will be available at the bar through Saturday, November2nd.

Saturday, November 9th, the Lodge will celebrate Veteran’s Day. To coincide with thisevent, the Ladies Auxiliary will sell desserts. Anyone interested in helping with this sale,please let me know. If you would like to donate a baked good, please bring it to the Lodgeanytime on the 10th. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Our December meeting will be held Tuesday, December 3rd. The Maumee SelectChoir will provide entertainment for the evening. This is a very talented group of youngadults. Please mark your calendars to attend this event. We will also have a cookieexchange after the performance. If you are interested in joining in on the cookieexchange, you should bring 1-2 dozen of your favorite cookies to exchange with every-one. And a container to carry your cookies home.

On Sunday, December 8th, the Ladies Auxiliary will host the annual Elks Children’sChristmas Party. We will have lunch, entertainment for the kids and a visit from Jolly OldSt Nick. This event is free for the Children and $5.00 for each adult. You must prepayin the Lodge office for this event. Reservation forms are in the bulletin. Or, you can fillthem out in the lodge office. We also need volunteers for this event. If you would like tohelp, please let me know.

In closing I would like to recognize all those that support the Ladies Auxiliary. As youknow, this organization directly supports our Lodge in many ways. Your participation andgenerous donations are greatly appreciated.
