Hello everyone! Welcome to Fall in Northwest Ohio. It's October so that means we have a new activities upcom- ing! First, the lodge will now be open again on Monday nights. Dartball is also starting up , and cornhole will be coming soon. We also have a number of great events this month including our Oldtimer's Dinner and the 2nd annual Sockhop event. Please check the calen- dar for more information on those. We recently had our district inspec- tion and I will keep the lodge updated on the results of that as soon as I receive them. I would also like to welcome our new Tiler, Vic Brigner. Vic was installed at the first meeting in September. Thank you to Vic for volunteering to become an officer! That means we still have 3 open chairs: Leading Knight, Inner Guard, and Chaplain. We are still looking to fill those spots! Please let myself or any lodge officer know if you are interested! As always, thank you for continuing to support the lodge through your vol- unteering and patronizing of the bar and kitchen! Please keep continuing to do so and we can make the lodge better everyday! See you around this month! Veterans ChestAs always, the need is here to help those that have served us. Remember we need cleansocks (new), hats, gloves, underwear, movies, and games. I have been advised they are in need of paper towels, toilet paper, and laundry detergentas their food stamps will not allow these purchases. The guys really need our help. At the present time they have plenty of playing cards. If there are any questions I would be happy to explain what is accepted; not that they aren'thappy with all you have done for them.

Lady Elks NewsI would like to thank all those that attended September’s meeting. Kim Abair

from Spoiled Health talked to us about CBD oil and other essential oils used forhealth issues. If you didn’t get a chance to attend the meeting but would like toknow more about this topic, stop in to Spoiled Health on Conant Street. Kim andher staff are very knowledgeable. October’s meeting will be held on October 1st at 7pm. We will have a represen-

tative from The HOOVES Program. This program encourages Veterans with chal-lenges when returning from serving our country. They work on building a relation-ship with horses, reading cues and working together to accomplish tasks. This con-nection helps the Veteran learn how to improve their relationships with others, tobetter understand themselves and to better cope and adapt to the world aroundthem. This should prove to be a very informative topic. November’s meeting will be held on November 5th. This will be our annual wine

tasting. Then, we will close out 2019 on December 3rd with our cookie exchange. We will also be entertained by the Maumee High School Select Choir. Please markyour calendars for these upcoming events. Watch for bulletins around the lodge.I also want to thank everyone who donated baked goods for our Dessert Night.

We will continue to have Dessert Night the first Wednesday of the month. If youwould like to donate a baked good, you may bring it to our meeting. Or, you candrop it off at the lodge any time on Wednesday. If you would like to help with thesale, we set up during dinner in the Trophy Room. Keep in mind this is our bestfund raiser. All the sales are used to fund our Children’s Christmas Party.See you at the lodge!
