1 - SymptomsPeople with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.People with these symptoms or combinations of symptoms may have COVID-19:
• Cough• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing• Fever• Chills• Muscle pain• Sore throat• New loss of taste or smell
This list is not all-inclusive. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you. For a comprehensive, up-to-date list of symptoms, visit the CDC website.
2 - Close ContactClose contact means an employee meets one of the following two conditions:1) Employee has been within 6 feet of an individual for 15 minutes or longer who has tested
positive for COVID-19.2) Employee has been within 6 feet of an individual for 15 minutes or longer who has been
isolated by a medical provider.Per CDC guidelines, close contact applies during a period of time starting from 48 hours before symptom onset (symptomatic patients) or positive specimen collection (asymptomatic patients) until the time the patient is isolated. In situations where face coverings are worn, the definition of close contact does not change.
3 - Testing COVID-19 tests need to be a nasopharyngeal (PCR-based) test or company-provided test.
4 - The Standard Mauser will provide up to 7 days of Paid Time Off to cover the Short Term Disability waiting period, as applicable.
5 – Results A facility cannot request written confirmation of diagnosis.
6 – Demonstrate a Good Faith Effort Employees who are unable to see a medical provider should be prepared to demonstrate a good faith effort was made to receive medical attention by providing the following information to facility leadership and The Standard:
• Name of Doctor• Practice name if applicable• Address• Phone number• Time of phone call or visit attempt Page 2 of 3
