Pre-requisites:Participation in the Sunrise Intermediate Course or an entry exam that proves knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity and solar PV.

Who should participate?Technicians, installers, electricians and project managers with basic knowl-edge on PV principles to get an impression of the processes on site.

Why should I participate in this course?The situation in the South African energy market is strained. Renewable energies like Photovoltaic (PV) have huge potential as a true alternative to conventional energy sources and electricity provided by Eskom. Therefore the PV market has become increasingly important and is moving towards fi nding technical and fi nancial viable solutions for various target groups. To learn how to install PV systems according the international and South African standards is essential to build up the PV market and your business successfully. In our training you will learn how to install roof-top PV systems. Different modules, mounting systems and installation options will be discussed and hands-on experience will be gained.

maxx-solar academy South AfricaIn 2011, the maxx-solar academy was established by the German Solar Energy Society DGS. Since then, hundreds of engineers, architects, craftsmen and interested citizens have taken part in the maxx-academy training courses in South Africa, Tanzania and Egypt. In 2015 the one thousandth participant was trained in the maxx-academy South Africa.

Accreditation and CertificationOur courses are accredited by the German Solar Energy Society DGS (www.dgs.de) and are internationally recognized. All partici-pants will get an internationally recognized certificate of participa-tion. The certificate is issued jointly by the maxx-solar academy and the German Solar Energy Society DGS. Furthermore, the participants can sign up for an exam after finishing the course to become DGS certified “DGS Solar Power Technician”.

International certified DGS Trainersmaxx-academy courses are delivered by DGS-certified instruc-tors who are carefully selected based on hands-on experience, scientific knowledge, and their ability to disseminate the knowl-edge. We ensure highest quality of our lectures by regular inter-nal audits and educational updates.During our trainings the instructors attach great importance to practical examples and share their own experience in the field with the participants. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Klauss and Dipl.-Ing. Clemens Brandt who deliver our Designer courses are both PV business owners. They have already installed several PV sys-tems which range from small domestic systems to large PV farm up to 20 MWp.

In general, all trainers and course contents are selected and ap-proved by the German Solar Energy Society DGS.
