Sunday, May 19. All are welcome. St. Francis Borgia School could use some recycled paper. This paper is used to make copies of worksheets and

handouts the teachers use in their classrooms. Recycled paper is also used in the office copy machine. This is one of the ways we save on using good paper. It helps keep costs down and saves trees as well. If you have paper that is clean on one side, has nothing inappropriate printed on the other side, and is flat (not bent or curled), and has not been stapled, we can use it! If you have letterhead that can no longer be used, we can use it! Please drop your paper donations at the school office on any regular school day between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. Please come to the doors on Panama Avenue and ring the bell. Thank you for your continued support of our school!

From the Pastor’s Desk… Currently in our Parish we continue to pray the Mother’s Day Novena. Everyday a Mass is celebrated in the intention of our mothers. We thank all for remembering your mothers in prayer. You can still enroll your mothers in the novena by giving us the names of your mothers both living and deceased. This weekend we mark the Feast day of the Ascension of the Lord. This means that it has already been 40 days from the Easter Resurrection and only one week separates us from Pentecost when we remember how the Apostles received the Holy Spirit. Ascension of the Lord reminds us of Jesus’ return to his Father so that He may prepare a place there for us. It also causes us to feel remembered and not abandoned. Our Church turns into the Apostles’ gathering place where we, along with Mary, await the Holy Spirit which will give us strength and wisdom to carry on the duty of evangelizing the whole world. A number of Feast days are fast approaching: next Sunday is Pentecost, which is followed by Holy Trinity Sunday, and then Corpus Christi. On behalf of Fr. Marcin, Fr. Joe, Deacon Bill, and myself, I express best wishes and prayers for all Mothers.

May God bless all the Mothers

That give of themselves And tend to their household needs

Before the needs of ‘self’ For they are there with comfort For each child’s broken heart,

Bringing them to God in prayer, With His love to impart.

Happy Mother’s Day! Fr. Rich

Dear Parishioners of St. Francis Borgia As some of you already know, this May our pastor, Fr. Richard Milek will celebrate his 30th Anniversary of his Ordination and his 55th Birthday. We would like to combine these celebrations and express our sincere appreciation for his priestly ministry here at St. Francis Borgia Parish. On May 26th, the last Sunday in May, we will have an additional Celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 1:30pm., followed by a light reception in the Stokes Center. This is going to be multi-lingual celebration. I would like to invite all the groups: School, Religious Education, English Speaking Community, Deaf Community, Italian Community, Polish Community under the direction of our Parish Council to be part of this celebration. Donations of salads and baked goods are greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact The President of the Parish Council, Mary Ann Rosso at 847-678-1423 or the Office Manager, Monika Wawrzyniak at 773-625-1118. Thank you very much for your cooperation. May God reward you for all the good you do for our parish and beyond. God bless you.

Z Biurka Ks. Proboszcza… Następna niedziela to dzień Zielonych Świąt a później Uroczystość Trójcy Świętej i Boże Ciało. W imieniu Ks. Marcina, Ks.
