Let’s hear it for these three May Babies!

60th Anniversary

Marjory and Allen were married on May 15th 1959, Allen said, on a very rainy day in Vancouver; so tomorrow they’ll be celebrating a milestone anniversary. Congratulations Marjory and Allen on your 60th, wishing

you a very happy Anniversary!

Allen, with Show and Shine upcoming, reflected on past S&S fundraisers from 2009 onward. We located at Smithford’s for the first few years, then near the corner of Primrose and finally back home to Rotary House and our parking lot. Allen reminded members that we have just 34 days to prepare for this years S&S on June 16.

Don’s Classification Talk

Don was born in Moncton in 1937, another Depression baby. He left High School before finishing at age 16. Moved to Ontario and then to Winnipeg where he joined the Army in 1955. While in the Army he served in the Middle East from 1957-59 and with NATO, stationed in Germany, from 1959-62. After getting out of the Army in 1966 Don and Janet were married, lived in Ontario, and worked for Goodyear Tire for 3 years and then for an Independent Tire Dealer. Don retired in 1993 but not before he had become a successful and respected businessman. Not bad for a kid that quit school at 16. Don joined Rotary in 1966 and has been a passionate and active Rotarian ever since.

“Enjoy the journey and try to get better every day; and don’t lose the passion and the love for what you do. – Nadia Comaneci
