The extended schedule, new activities, and amusing General Assemblies did indeed develop responsibility, foster brotherhood, promote enthusiasm, encourage competition, inspire dedication, and enrich each JCLer’s total growth. The revolutionized convention proved that most were able to have a spectacular time in several aspects of the convention day. Many times while Academic testing sessions were held, those who did not wish to take them all could enjoy the campus of Smyrna and view the Olympika activities also going on. The That’s Entertainment Talent show was very entertaining, hosting unique and interesting abilities of JCLers of many dimensions. There was a night of singing, comedy, and classical music set to the digits of pi recited in Latin; no one who attended can ever forget. As TJCL says vale to another year of success and accomplishments, the memories cannot be forgotten. After three years of fun and exciting conventions at Smyrna, the convention left its place with a bang. Goodbye Smyrna and onward to next year’s convention with the Rossview Hawks! Clarksville welcomes TJCL 2005 State Convention, many more JCLers, and togas for a great time next spring! Until then, there is Nationals in Virginia, and hopefully many more Latin activities for everyone. And forever we'll hold… to the Purple and Gold… of the Junior Classical League! 2004 TJCL CONVENTION SAYS 'VALE' TO SMYRNA

Students from all areas of Tennessee attended the 48th Annual Tennessee Junior Classical League Convention on April 15th through the 17th at Smyrna High School.

Monday July 26 - Saturday July 31 University of Richmond

Richmond, Virginia

Would you like to win a cash prize of $50 for designing a t-shirt? The Tennessee delegation at the NJCL Convention will wear identical t-shirts on one day of the convention, and you can win cash for designing that t-shirt. The shirt will also be entered in the State T-shirt Contest at the convention, where it will compete against other shirts. The design should adhere to this year's convention theme, which is "Facta Non Verba" or "Words Not Deeds". You may design both the front and the back of the t-shirt. Indicate what color(s) the design includes, if you have a preference.
