A Wonderful May! Many great things continue to happen through the ministry of FBCG and the month of May provides some other wonderful opportunities for God to use you in ministry. Here are some of the programs, ministries, and events which I am praying God uses powerfully this month …
Children’s Choir Program – On Sunday evening, May 3, what a powerful musical our children will be presenting this year!
Mission Trip to the Holy Land – Our team will be fitting needy Palestinians with prescription eyeglasses.
National Day of Prayer – FBCG will host several activities related to this national event, including our IPM Banquet and a Men’s Call to Prayer on Friday, May 8. Our nation certainly needs to return to the Lord!
Family Dedication – We dedicate babies born into our fellowship and their families twice a year. We will dedicate them on Mother’s Day, May 10.
Graduate Sunday – The Sunday when we honor our graduates is always a very special day. This year, we will honor them on May 17.
Lord’s Supper – It is also a very special time whenever we observe the Lord’s Supper as we remember Jesus’ sacrificial death for us. On Memorial Day weekend, we honor those who have given their lives for the cause of freedom … that is the essence of the Lord’s Supper … Jesus died so we could be set free. We will observe Communion on Sunday morning, May 24.
Upward Soccer Saturday – God has blessed the Upward Sports programs at FBCG in wonderful ways through the years. This year, we are having another great Upward soccer season and we will conclude it with a spectacular Upward Soccer Saturday on May 30.
Daniel Crews in Concert – Daniel Crews is a powerful musician whom God is using mightily across the country. He serves as the Artist in Residence at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida. Daniel will sing with our choir and orchestra in the 8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services on Sunday, May 31, and then host a full concert that evening in our Worship Center.
Yes, there are some great things planned for the month of May at FBCG! God is moving in our midst and my prayer is for His continued presence to empower and lead us in everything. When God is in the lead, great things happen! See you this Sunday.
“Annie,” the Musical Date: Thursday, June 25 Time: Depart from church at 6:30 p.m. Location: Winspear Opera House Cost: $70 Details: The classic, Tony Award-winning tale of “Annie” provides a theater experience that should not be missed! Contact: Trisha Beavers, 972-276-7194, x239
10 Days Touring in the Holy Land (October 12-21, 2015) Details: What would it have been like to travel the roads and path ways of the Promised Land in the footsteps of Jesus? There is only one way to fully understand and appreciate the great stories of the Bible, and that is to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Here is your chance! Come and go with Pastor Greg, Lisa, and Camden Ammons, and Pastor Jack and Gwen Schmid to the Holy Land in the Fall of 2015. The Bible will never read the same to you. This truly is the trip of a lifetime. Contact: Jack Schmid or Trisha Beavers, 972-276-7194
