April Showers Are Bringing May Flowers

May is here and we have a lot happening at The Berea Chamber of Commerce. Scholarships will be awarded to some very deserving students at Madison Southern and Berea Community. This is one of the most rewarding examples of how the Chamber gives back to Berea. Things are coming together for the Chamber Golf Tournament and we are pushing to onboard some

new members in the near future as we attempt to share the story of the tremendous benefits of chamber membership.

Congratulations to John Kleis of Hyster-Yale and Jeanette Rowlett of The Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen on their appointment to the Chamber Board of Directors. We look forward to working with these folks to make Berea a better place to work and do business.

As has been the case for some time, Spoonbread Festival preparation is in full swing. We are still finalizing details on vendors and events, so watch for updates at spoonbreadfestival.com. And remember we are always looking for volunteers and chairs to make the event a success.

I don’t mention it enough, but it is a true honor to serve as this year’s volunteer Chamber Board leader. Please share your successes, concerns, and ques-tions as they relate to the way we do things.

Sincerely,

Kicking Off Our Membership Drive

On behalf of our Ambassador / Membership Recruitment Commit-tee, I would like to ask for your assistance as we announce plans for a very aggressive Membership Drive for the next 100 days. Our goal is 100 new members by August 25th.

To meet our goal, we need your assistance to grow our member-ship, which will allow us to grow our programs and services benefit-ing all members of the Berea Chamber of Commerce. Please take 10 minutes over the coming month and reach out to an area busi-ness and encourage them to become members of the Berea Chamber of Commerce. Then, email me their contact information so a member of our committee can follow up by visiting the pro-spective member personally. Historically, our best sales people (recruiters) tend to be those individuals who are actively engaged in chamber activities throughout the community and can share their personal and professional experiences with the prospective mem-ber.

Help us reach our goal for the membership drive! Sincerely,

David
