During all the years I’ve been on the bridge and walking the decks of the Cunard fleet, I thought I’d experienced the absolute pinnacle of sea faring

luxury but that was before I knew the detail surrounding the refurbishment of Queen Mary 2. It takes what is an already magnificent vessel to a whole new level and I’m pleased to see it has kept all those echoes of classic ocean liner

style, and our long maritime tradition.

This marks a major milestone towards retaining our fleet’s iconic status as the most luxurious way to sail the oceans of the world. To that end, the dedicated

teams on all three of our ships will continue to devote themselves to delivering our unparalleled signature White Star Service – whether it is your very first

Cunard cruise or whether you are a regular Cunarder.

But rather than me telling you about it, you really need to experience all this for yourselves. So, I’ll leave you to discover all the exceptional destinations and cruises

offered within these pages, and I look forward to seeing you on board soon.

Our fleet comprises of three exceptional ships – Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2. Grand in scale, yet stylish down to the tiniest detail, each one is a world unto herself. An oasis of discovery and relaxation and the perfect setting from which to explore new destinations, or old favourites.

In 2017, our three Queens will continue the Cunard tradition of exploring the world’s oceans in exceptional luxury. Queen Mary 2’s timeless Transatlantic Crossings remain a highlight. With sailings to New England and Canada, Queen Mary 2 offers a unique view of this rugged coast. In June 2016, she undergoes an extensive refit so there is no better time to travel.

Queen Victoria spends her time in the Mediterranean, offering seven to 24 night Mediterranean Fly-Cruises and the opportunity to embark in Rome, Venice, Athens or Barcelona. Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth sails from Southampton to the beautiful Fjords and Baltic Sea, and south to the Canary Islands and Mediterranean. All three Queens also offer Short Breaks to Europe – the perfect way to enhance a holiday to this part of the world.

The Cunard Fare is quoted throughout this Cruise Calendar. It offers flexibility, prioritised choice of dining and stateroom, as well as additional rewards.

Embark on a very civilised adventure.

• Car parking in Southampton.

• Return coach travel to Southampton.

◆ Pay only 15% deposit when booking. ◆ Flexibility to change your booking

(subject to conditions).

Queen Mary 2.

Where does one start with our majestic flagship? It’s not for nothing that she’s the most famous ocean liner in the world. Her sheer scale and elegance see to that. Encompassed within her graceful lines are fifteen restaurants and bars, five swimming pools, a full-sized theatre, a casino, a Canyon Ranch SpaClub®, a 3D cinema, the world’s first floating planetarium and the largest dance floor at sea. She even has kennels, to accommodate our four-legged guests in style on Transatlantic Crossings.

For lovers of fresh sea air, there are around three-and-a-half acres of deck space and - as on all three Cunard Queens - a traditional promenade deck that circumnavigates the ship. As well as an incredible feat of engineering, she’s a fine art gallery. More than five thousand commissioned works hang in her public spaces and staterooms. Perhaps most prominent issculptor John McKenna’s gleaming bronze relief portrait of the ship in the Grand Lobby, inspired by the Art Deco mural in the main dining room of the original Queen Mary.

Queen Victoria.

Queen Victoria is similar in size and layout to her sister ship, Queen Elizabeth, but has her own distinct personality and feel. Her classical décor has an Edwardian

elegance – warm-toned and plush – executed with Cunard’s hallmark flair.

She’s also the holder of several firsts. The first Cunard ship to have a female Captain - IngerKlein Thorhauge – and the first in the world to offer private boxes at sea in the Royal CourtTheatre. Fans of Queen Victoria – and they are legion – often remark on her unusual cosiness.Because, while she’s every inch a grand ship in

terms of size and décor, she has a particularlywarm and intimate feeling throughout. In 2017, Queen Victoria will benefit from brand new Britannia Club Balcony staterooms and a single seating Britannia Club restaurant.

10

Christened by her namesake HM the Queen in 2010, and the newest of our fleet, Queen Elizabeth’s design pays tribute to the Art Deco tradition. The heyday of

Hollywood glamour is instantly evoked by her elegant wood panelling, gleaming chandeliers, marble flooring and beautiful decorative touches.

Nowhere more so than in the triple-height Grand Lobby, its sweeping staircase dominated by a stunning marquetry-panelled portrait of the original RMS Queen Elizabeth, in a design created by The Queen’s nephew, Viscount Linley.

For relaxation the ship’s architects created the Garden Lounge - a large conservatory, basedon the famous hothouses of Kew Gardens - and a unique Games Deck, where you can enjoy the gentle pastimes of croquet, bowls and paddle tennis.

Dine where your mood takes you.

Whether your accommodation means you’re dining in the Britannia Restaurant or the Princess Grill or Queens Grill, everything is beautifully presented and offered with wines that complement your choice perfectly. You’ll also find many tempting vegetarian dishes and we’ll happily cater for most special dietary requirements. On board all three ships, buffet-style dining is available throughout the day and until late evening. For those more informal lunches, the ever-popular Golden Lion Pub welcomes you with traditional gastro-pub fare.

Dining ‘out’ is always an option. For a modest supplement, you can have a change of culinary scenery from your main restaurant, and ‘dine out’. By evening on all our ships the buffet offers alternative dining options, including Italian, Indian, Pan Asian, Mexican and American Smokehouse menus.

On all ships, The Verandah presents French specialities during the day and evening. At dinner it also offers an acclaimed multiple-course tasting menu – an unforgettable culinary experience that’s truly worth skipping lunch for.

If anything sums up the freedom of your cruise, it is the array of places to eat, from healthy to hearty, from light bites to haute cuisine. The only challenge is deciding what to order, when so much catches the

eye. You’ll find classics like tender lobster or melt-in-the-mouth chateaubriand. Often what’s on offer reflects where you are in the world – as our chefs make use of fresh, local ingredients.

New York

Transatlantic Crossings.

That’s partly because a Transatlantic Crossing offers so much possibility. It’s a welcome chance to leave the everyday world behind, to escape into a new world of pleasure and excitement and yet feel utterly relaxed. Most of all it’s an invitation to make a unique and dramatic arrival into – or departure from – the world’s most exciting city.

Our magnificent flagship is uniquely suited to ensuring you have a holiday

of a lifetime, with so much space and so many experiences to choose from, including the planetarium, 3D film screenings, RADA drama workshops, the largest library at sea and the incredible Canyon Ranch SpaClub®.

As you would expect, the cuisine is exquisite and at night you can anticipate a whirl of West End style shows, live music and dancing to the orchestra in the Queens Room.

Cunard ships have been crossing the Atlantic to and from New York since 1847, when we established the first ever regular service. Today, only Queen Mary 2 regularly makes this journey and not only does it remain as glamorous and exciting as ever but it also remains one of travel’s most iconic experiences.

Mediterranean Fly-Cruises.

Queen Victoria spends her summers sailing the Mediterranean, offering seven to 24-night adventures embarking in Barcelona, Venice, Rome and Athens – with each historic city providing superb opportunities to extend your holiday pre- or post-cruise for a few nights. Her Fly-Cruise programme offers a number of options to create the perfect European holiday; giving you the opportunity to see as much of the Mediterranean as you desire. She will visit many of the most beautiful and glamorous ports in the region –including Monte Carlo, Dubrovnik and Santorini.

She’ll visit an array of new and interesting ports of call. Historic Brindisi, along the Italian Adriatic coast, offers beautiful sandy beaches, palm-lined streets and swathes of historical

architecture including grand castles and an ancient Roman column that is said to mark the end of the famous Via Appia – the Roman road that linked Rome to Brindisi. Cruise into Sibenik, Croatia, a naturally protected harbour, and step ashore to experience open public squares and Renaissance architecture. The Cathedral Sveti Jakov - a registered UNESCO World Heritage site – is certainly worth a visit, and the climb to St Michael’s Fortress or Kastel sv. Mihovil, will reward you with stunning views over the harbour and town below. The romantic city of Chania, on the northeast coast of Crete is brimming with the history of the various civilizations that have flourished here since ancient times. The charming Venetian harbour is home to a beautiful lighthouse and fort as well

as an ancient former Turkish Mosque on the waterfront. Meanwhile the Old Town, just behind the harbour, is ripe for exploration on a walking tour. The narrow streets are always lively and colourful, and are home to various shops, restaurants and cafes.

The Mediterranean offers countless places of interest and beauty, and our 21-night Mediterranean Fly-Cruises offer enough time to fully explore. Whichever sights are on your Mediterranean ‘to do’ list, our shore excursions are the most convenient way to see them. You can start planning now at cunard.co.uk, and even book shore excursions through our Voyage Personaliser.

Queen Victoria calls at many stunning Mediterranean ports in 2017. With the opportunity to visit ancient ruins, bustling modern cities and serenely beautiful beaches, this great sea is yours to explore.

Mediterranean cruises from Southampton.

Sailing from Southampton is the most relaxing way to reach the Mediterranean because you can enjoy all that your ship has to offer the moment you embark, and your holiday doesn’t end until you step foot back in Southampton. There’s no need to worry about luggage restrictions either, so you can bring exactly what you need on board.

Naples is often referred to as an open air museum, thanks to the multitude of statues, churches, theatres and its UNESCO World Heritage site listed historic centre. The city has been

continuously inhabited for over 2,800 years and all aspects of life and history can be found within its bustling and ancient streets. Museums and galleries abound in Naples, with the Museo Cappella Sansevero surely a highlight – the intricate marble statues have to be seen to be believed. A short journey away from the city is the world-famous town of Pompeii, famously buried by ash from the looming Mount Vesuvius. The town-sized ruins perfectly capture Roman life and are a must-see for any visitor to the region.

Barcelona’s vibrant heart creates a bold impression. Lively Las Ramblas is full of quirky ‘human statue’ street performers. Of course, the imprint of Gaudí is everywhere, and his signature undulating roofs and multicoloured mosaics always draw the eye.

Ancient Kusadasi has been at the heart of art and culture for 5,000 years. The Roman ruins at nearby Ephesus attest to the area’s place in history – the façade of the Library of Celsus being a particular highlight.

The Mediterranean is a perfect holiday destination in so many ways. Around the sea where so many countries meet, your journey can match your interests wherever you touch ashore.

Northern Europe cruises.

Around the Baltic Sea, several capitals await; Stockholm, Copenhagen and Tallinn to name three. The Estonian capital Tallinn appears to have risen directly from the pages of a fairytale, with its exceptionally well preserved Medieval Old Town and imposing Toompea – the castle-like district in the centre of the city.

A highlight for many travelling in Northern Europe is Russia’s cultural capital, St Petersburg. A vision of tsarist palaces and cathedral domes, the city is also home to the world-renowned Hermitage Museum - our shore excursions can afford exclusive access after hours. Copenhagen, capital

of Denmark and consistently voted one of the best cities in which to live, is perfect for a day’s exploration. Of course, the Little Mermaid will be a draw, so too should the 15 Michelin starred restaurants, numerous galleries and varied museums found throughout this compact city.

Further north, Norway’s glassy fjords, electric blue glaciers and pounding waterfalls leave a lasting impression. Traditional clapboard buildings in Bergen and Stavanger complete the perfect fjords image, whilst Norway’s Viking heritage adds extra interest.

Perched on the most northerly tip of Denmark sits Skagen, renowned for its remarkable light that attracted artists and tourists alike in the late 19th Century. Today, visitors still flock to thetown to visit the myriad museums and galleries and to take advantage of the light for their own artistic endeavours.

Closer to home, Queen Elizabeth will explore the United Kingdom and Ireland. This itinerary offers unique views of our beautiful island and our close neighbours, with calls to several beautiful Scottish ports, Dublin, Liverpool and the Channel Islands, along with a call in the Netherlands.

The rugged beauty of Northern Europe offers an array of cultural riches and spectacular landscapes to discover. And the further north you venture, the more rugged and dramatic the scenery becomes.

Diverse Tenerife offers numerous opportunities to explore. The more active may head to Mount Teide, the volcanic peak that is the icon of the Canary Islands. Wandering through the National Park’s moon-like rock formations makes for a wonderful day ashore. Elsewhere, the verdant laurel forests and lush valleys of the island offers wonderful natural contrasts.

The garden isle of Madeira, bright with exotic flowers and fruits, offers a warm welcome to ocean travellers; the toboggans make for an unforgettable break from relaxing on board.

Chateau Frontenac, Québec

Along the coastline of New England and Canada, the rugged scenery is peppered with historic cities, summer resorts and quaint clapboard towns. New York appears on every North American itinerary, and with good reason. The city that never sleeps pulseswith a unique energy that has to be experienced.New England has much to offer too. Boston played akey role in American Independence, a fact marked bymonuments and historic buildings throughout the city. Further north, Sydney in Nova Scotia will delight. Situatedon Cape Breton Island, you might be surprised to hearGaelic being spoken. Halifax wears its past on its sleeve,or at least within the walls of its star-shaped citadel.Québec is North America’s only walled city. DecidedlyFrench in language and character, its pavement cafésand antique shops huddle under the gaze of themagnificent Château Frontenac.

St Thomas

Caribbean cruises.

This dusting of islands has captivated those arriving by sea for centuries, and their natural beauty and vibrant spirit ensures that the Caribbean remains uniquely enticing.

Perhaps thoughts of lobster barbecues, rum punch and the freshest mango stir the senses. Maybe it’s the golf courses. Or the beaches. Magens Bay on St Thomas is regarded among the finest beach anywhere. Snorkelling opportunities are in plentiful supply too. Beneath the waves of Shipwreck Cove, a sunken wartime ship is now crewed only by marine life.

History, legend and stories of rugged buccaneers hang in the air throughout the Caribbean. The cannons of Brimstone Hill Fortress on St Kitts still stand guard, whilst in Barbados, Gun Hill offers captivating views of the island.

Grand Place, Brussels

Short cruises.

Criss-cross the canals in Amsterdam or let Zeebrugge be your gateway to the grand boulevards of Brussels and its charming Grand Place. Bruges is surely one of the most beautiful old cities in the world, and serves up delicious local beer and chocolates – not to mention a wonderful Christmas market in the festive season.

Most two night departures are between Southampton and Hamburg. In this elegant and vibrant city the Rathaus, the town hall crowned with a 160-foot tower, deserves a visit. So does St Michaelis Church with its distinctive brick and iron tower. Music lovers may stop by the Indra Club where, in 1960, the Fab Four first played together as The Beatles.

Alternatively explore Cherbourg, for a slice of French culture and a taste of Normandy cuisine. This historic town is indelibly linked to the sea, and makes for a perfect day of wandering.

Shore excursions are available in each of these ports to enrich your time here.

A short cruise of two to five nights aboard a Cunard ship offers a wonderful way to take a well-earned break, with a dash of exploring too. Our short cruises sail roundtrip from Southampton with visits to

Cherbourg, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Starting and ending in Southampton, you’ll be hypnotised by changing lands and civilisations as you cross great oceans, stopping at numerous iconic world-cities on the way. Our itineraries offer days and sometimes evenings to fully immerse yourself in the fascinating sites, cultures and cuisines of each destination. With each ship following her own incredible route, you need simply choose where in the world to explore first. In January 2018, Queen Mary 2’s World Voyage will head to South Africa where you can enjoy an overnight stay in Cape Town, before sailing on to Australasia. Here she will visit 10 ports in Australia, and six ports in New Zealand including two maiden calls at Dunedin and Tauranga. She then travels on to Asia and the Middle East, with overnight stays in Hong Kong and Dubai, before closing off her voyage cruising the Mediterranean. Queen Elizabeth will also embark on a World Voyage crossing the great Atlantic and journeying down the North American coast, with maiden calls at Hamilton, Bermuda

and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, before transiting the Panama Canal. In the Pacific she visits the secluded islands of French Polynesia, including a maiden call at Mo’orea, before going on to explore New Zealand and Australia. Heading north to Japan, Queen Elizabeth will visit six different ports, with a maiden call at Kochi, before sailing on to Hong Kong for an overnight stay. Her voyage closes off by exploring the natural beauty of southern Africa and the Canary Islands. From 7 January to 23 March 2018, Queen Victoria will embark on a 75 night South American voyage. Cruise across the Atlantic to North America, down to the Caribbean and on to four different Brazilian ports, including two maiden calls and an overnight stay in Rio de Janeiro. Continue South to Uruguay and Argentina and explore five ports along the steep inlets of the Chilean coast including two maiden calls at Coquimbo and Arica. Touch shore in Peru and Ecuador before cruising through the Panama Canal. Queen Victoria rounds off this cruise with calls in Jamaica, Mexico and North America before crossing the Atlantic once more.

World Voyage and Exotic Adventures.

Cunard pioneered the World Voyage in 1922, and to this day, nothing compares to this iconic journey. A Full World Voyage is one of life’s great experiences, made even more memorable by

the variety and amount of rich cultural and natural sights that can be seen in one trip.
