WELCOME TOALUMAPALOOZA 10,THE AIRSTREAM FACTORY,& THE VILLAGE OF JACKSON CENTER, OHIO!You’re going to have a great week, and a busy one!

Use this guide to plan your fun.

WHERE IS EVERYTHING?We have three main areas for activities. (See the Map on page 10) The Main Tent is the big one, where most of the seminars and Happy Hours are held. All seminars are in the Main Tent unless otherwise specified.

The Vendor/Registration Tent is next to it. Pick up your registration materials, t-shirts, and get information there. Most vendors will be present from Tuesday through Saturday.

The Activities Tent is nearby on the grass, and that’s where yoga and small group meetings are held.

HAPPENING ALL WEEKMorning Yoga class will be held at 7:30 am daily (except Tuesday) in the Activities Tent, with instructor Kimberley Oen. You don’t need any prior experience to join this fun and easy class! Bring a towel or yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Hands-on Workshops. These short workshops give you a chance to learn much more about your Airstream and how to take care of it. Each workshop runs 30 minutes and repeats once. You’ll often have a chance to try techniques yourself and ask questions of an expert.

On-site Airstream Cleaning Service. Detailing Unlimited will clean the exterior of your Airstream on site, for $30 trailer/motorhome only ($10 additional for tow vehicle) and $10 goes to charity. A full waxing is $150. Just flag down the Detailing Unlimited truck when you see it, on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Washes take only about 10 minutes.

Silent Auction for Charity. Airstream art, other items, and more will be auctioned off for charity. This includes a special VIP Airstream factory tour

Page 4: MAY 28 - JUNE 2, 2019 - Alumapaloozaalumapalooza.com/.../APZ10_SurvivalGuide_single-2.pdf · Every dollar raised in the Silent Auction will be donated to the Fish Pond, a local food

up, which goes to areas that the regular tour doesn’t go, personally led by Plant Manager Marion Slater. You’ll have at least an hour to tour the facility, ask all the questions you want, and get a memento of your visit.

Every dollar raised in the Silent Auction will be donated to the Fish Pond, a local food bank that helps many local people. Place your bids in the Vendor/Registration tent.

Open Grill. Open Grill nights are noted in the schedule. It’s a lot of fun sharing the big custom-made grills with your fellow Airstreamers, and sharing the interesting items that people bring to cook.

We supply the charcoal and the grills, you bring whatever you want to cook and your grill tools. On Thursday night, Airstream managers will be cooking hot dogs and hamburgers too!

Jackson Center Days, the local community fair, will be May 31-June 2. For more info see: https://www.jacksoncenter.com/eventsforms/community-events/community-days

The free shuttle bus between the Holloway camping area and the Factory camping area will run Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 – 6:00 pm, numerous times each day. Use it to get from your camping area to the center of the action!

CULINARY DEMONSTRATIONS Two Great Tastes That Taste Great Together. You’ve paired cheese & wine, even wine & chocolate. But what about chocolate & cheese?

It’s not an obvious combination, but chocolate and cheese make for unique yet perfectly balanced, unexpectedly flavorful pairings. In this seminar by Chef Eleanor will demonstrate five different pairings. Sign up in advance ($10 fee) to taste the pairings. Limited spaces are available so don’t delay!

Size Matters. Chef Eleanor shows how to make the most with what you have. Watch this detailed culinary demonstration as she prepares a multi-course gourmet meal on an actual Airstream galley.

Small plates. Big finish. Taste the results—Bid in the Silent Auction for the chance to win the opportunity to dine and enjoy the meal she prepared during the demo. All proceeds from the auction will go to benefit The Fish Pond (food bank).

SIGNUP SHEETS/INFO There will be signup sheets at the Bulletin Boards (in the Vendor/Registration Tent) for all activities that require advance sign up. For more information about anything, just ask at Registration or anyone in an orange Alumapalooza staff shirt.

VENDORS This year we are expecting representatives from Haydocy RV, SkyMed, Zip Dee, The Kabine, Truck Systems Technologies, Car Generator, Nuvite, 4th D Solar, and Unique Origin. Airstream Life Store will also have a pop-up store with many popular items.

SURVIVAL TIPS BADGES: Please wear your badges (or wristbands if provided)! You need to show them to attend seminars and get other perks we’ve arranged for you. Your badge or wristband is also your ticket to dinner on Saturday.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Last minute schedule changes, daily door prize winners, and other important announcements will be made at 4:00 pm daily under the Main Tent. You must be present to win a door prize, and we’ve got some really good ones!

WALLY BYAM STORE: The Wally Byam Store in the Airstream Service Center is open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. On Saturday the store will also be open from 8:00 AM to noon.

CHILDREN: Please have at least one adult in attendance for your kids for all programs.

INTERNET: There’s free wi-fi at the Airstream Service Center. Grab a coffee and make yourself at home. The wi-fi password is rivetedlife.

ELECTRICITY: If you are connected to the electrical system, please note that you are sharing a 15-amp connection with three other trailers! If the circuit is overloaded, the breaker will pop and you’ll have no power at all. So please, don’t attempt to run AC-powered appliances such as microwaves, hair dryers, or air conditioners. Make sure your refrigerator is set to “GAS” mode only.

SHOWERS: The Village of Jackson Center will open the showers at the public swimming pool from 7 AM to 10 AM for any attendees of Alumapalooza who wish to use them. These are located at the JC Municipal Park, 800 E Pike St.

TRASH/RECYCLING: Bagged trash can be carried over to the dumpster next to the building across Bambi Lane, or left out in the morning in front of your trailer before 7:30 AM for pickup by our friendly sanitation crew. The recycling center is outside the North Gate on Jerry Drive.

GRAY WATER: Gray water cannot be released on the ground per Ohio law. Use a blue tank and take it to the dump station by the Service Center or to the designated gray water dump.

Page 6: MAY 28 - JUNE 2, 2019 - Alumapaloozaalumapalooza.com/.../APZ10_SurvivalGuide_single-2.pdf · Every dollar raised in the Silent Auction will be donated to the Fish Pond, a local food

BLACK TANK PUMP-OUTS: At any time you can empty your black tank at the dump station by the Service Center. There will also be a gray water dump near the camping area. Every campsite is eligible for one complimentary pump-out, which will be done 3-4 days after your arrival day. A flag will be posted at the end of the row on the day of pump-out. You do not need to be present unless you have an Interstate or Atlas, or a vintage trailer with non-standard sewer connection.

SEVERE WEATHER: In the event of a tornado warning, you may hear a siren. For those in the Factory campground, the factory building (large blue building adjacent to the camping area) is your shelter. The Airstream guard or one of the Alumapalooza staff will unlock door #23 on the north side or door #11 on the east side. Proceed to the concrete block Men’s and Women’s restrooms under the mezzanine.

LOCAL RULES: No ground fires are allowed, but an off-the-ground grill or fully contained campfire is OK. Local ordinance says: No open containers off Airstream property.

PETS: All animals must be caged or on a 6-foot (or shorter) leash. No pets in buildings except service animals. Please, no dogs in the Main Tent on Saturday night during dinner.

PERSONAL ITEMS: Please be sure to secure your personal belongings, lock your vehicles, etc. The organizers of Alumapalooza and Airstream will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

STAFF CREDITS: Alumapalooza is produced by R&B Events (yeah, those guys). Water & electricity are provided by Airstream. Songs, signs and decals are created by Kirk MacKellar. This year’s Alumapalooza art and t-shirt design are by Matt Boorstin. All the hard work on site is done by the “Dirty Oranges,” our crew of volunteers. If you see one of them, let them know you appreciate their effort by giving them a smile.

THANKS to the many hard-working people at Airstream who help make this event possible, Bruce Metz of the Village of Jackson Center, the JC Fire and Police Departments, the Shelby County Sheriff, and all the local businesses that have offered their support. Special thanks to the many volunteers who have come to present seminars and help make this event happen. Most of all, thank you for coming!

ALUMAPALOOZA 10 is generously sponsored by Haydocy Airstream & RV, with additional support from Airstream Life magazine, Airstream Inc, SkyMed, Ultimate Airstreams, Unique Origin, Zip-Dee, and Lodge Logic. Alumapalooza is a registered trademark of R&B Events LLC.
