“FAST AWAY THE OLD YEAR PASSES”
The poster boards featuring highlights of the five decades of Holy Child history were first on display at our Parish Christmas Party. They reappeared in the lobby for review on our Jubilee Weekend. They were carefully crafted by:
Richard & Lidia Larkin, Peg McGoff, Lorraine St. John, Betty Schiebel, John & Josephine Schirripa, Lucy Zilli.
To insure preservation and to enhance their presentation they were enveloped in tight plastic. That shrink wrap process was done by parishioners, Rich and Elaine Putonti of Cape House Gallery, whose ad appears regularly in this bulletin.
Masters of art framing, they also prepared the painting in Founder’s Memorial and mounted the papal blessing that will soon be on display in the church.
The poster boards came to life, so to speak, in the video series seen on the screens during the dinner dance. We owe the joy of watching those animated images to Lorraine St. John who saw to their compilation, editing and presentation in conjunction with Wayne Fleming of Emerald Video Produc-tions.
A new round of photos will enter Holy Child Archives thanks to the coverage of the dinner dance by Nancy Messina and the coverage of the Anniversary Mass and Luncheon by Kenneth Cole. Nancy and Kenneth recorded these landmark events which are now captured for posterity on film.
Coming to the rescue in producing the souvenier journal in light of the bankruptcy of the outfit that left us in the lurch were:
Catherine McQuillen and Danielle Kartalis.
Committee members for the Dance and the Luncheon deserve our expression of grateful appreciation: Jim & Jean Amberger Frank & Louise Morano Phyllis & Louis Ballarino Christine Nierva Peg & Dick Corney Sandra Pace Ed & Linda DiMarco Joan Roitzsch Mary & Larry Kelly Lorraine & Tom St. John Richard & Lidia Larkin Lynne Sanacore Joseph Longo Mary Pat Schaefer Peg McGoff Matt & Betty Schiebel Catherine McQuillen John & Josephine Schirripa Frank & Carmela Montella Lucy Zilli
The cantors and choirs brought the Easter Season to glorious conclusion on Pentecost which hap-pened to be the Sunday of our Jubilee.
Leading up to it through Lent, The Sacred Triduum and the following weeks, their presentations matched the solemnity of the ceremonies and gave magnificent sparkle to the unforgettable climax of our year long Jubilee celebrations.
Father Travers
