STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS “And Peter said to them, ’Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ.’” ACTS 2:38 The word “repent” means to turn from sin, to change our actions. When it comes to change, do we take responsibility for change or do we think that others have to change instead? Change that is permanent comes from within, we must take con-trol and be disciplined. Remember though that we are not alone. Jesus is there to help lighten the load. THANK YOU FROM HOLY TRINITY SCHOOL Dear Curé of Ars Parishioners, Thank you for your generous gift of (50) Easter bas-kets to Most Holy Trinity Catholic School. On be-half of the faculty, staff, and families we serve, we appreciate your generosity. Your donation will make a significant impact on the life and education of our students. At Most Holy Trinity our approach to education is to serve the “whole child” and sup-port the students where they are and beyond. Again, thank you for your support! Sincerely Jessica Kilmade, Principal
The members of Curé of Ars are presenting Bishop Rivituso with a spiritual bouquet to celebrate and honor his elevation to the office of Bishop. Index cards will be provided after all Masses this weekend so that any parishioner who desires to do so can offer whatever spiritual blessings they wish on the card. The cards will then be placed in an album and presented to Bishop Rivituso.

Abundance of Life. How comforting it is to know that Jesus came that we may have life more abun-dantly. The spring is a wonderful time to observe the beauty of life present in God’s creation. Plants are blooming, birds are singing, and people are more visible outdoors because of the warm weather. What does it mean to live more abun-dantly though? It means living as a person whom God has destined for greatness. It means that Je-sus has justified us by His precious blood and called to be people of great sanctity to deposit the scent of holiness everywhere we go. The grace of justification transforms us to live more fully with hope, joy, and zealous charity for God and neighbor. Because of the life Christ give us, we are a new creation destined for eternal glory in heaven with the Triune God.

MISSION CO-OP APPEAL Next weekend, May 13/14th, Terry Kopp from Mary Mother of God Mission Society, will visit our parish to speak about the Roman Catho-lic Churches in Eastern Russia. A second offering will be taken up. In the early 1900’s the Russian far east boasted a thriving Roman Catholic population. Many Russians, Poles, Lithuanians, and other groups inhabited the area and had built schools, hospitals, and beauti-ful churches. After the revolution of 1917, Russia became an emblem of the Communist era, a land without churches and without God. Under Stalin, all Catholic churches were confiscated and dioceses closed. Most churches were desecrated or destroyed. Catholics were murdered by the hundreds of thousands and their bodies dumped into mass graves. Our two American priests, Fr. Myron Effing, CJD, and Fr. Daniel Mauer, CJD, arrived in Vladisvostok in 1992 to help re-establish the Church in this region and provide charitable assistance to the many poor. Now that the foundations have been laid, additional priests and sisters are joining the work, and parishes are growing and multiplying, very slowly, but surely. To learn more about the activities of the mission and the Catholic Church in Russia, visit www.vladmission.org.
