SCORE®
Counselors to America’s Small Business
For over 40 years SCORE® has been giving free business counseling. The Chamber has partnered with SCORE® to bring their volunteers to the Chamber office on the first and third Monday after-noon of each month. Get personalized, confidential counseling from over forty experienced volunteer business counsel-ors. SCORE’s counselors are active and retired business executives and small business owners from a wide variety of businesses with hands-on-experience. Their areas of expertise are Busi-ness Planning, Marketing, Retail, Finance, Strategic Planning, Succession Planning, Manufacturing, Export and Import, Operations, and many other functional areas. In addition SCORE conducts Business Workshops held in different cities in the East Bay to provide information and advice on a variety of small business subjects. Their workshop presenters—SCORE counselors and guest speakers are business professionals with specific experiences in the subject presented.. Check their website for schedules www.eastbayscore.org. If you feel your business could benefit from meeting with one of the SCORE counselors, call the Chamber office today at 634-3344 to set up an appointment

Mission Statement: The Brentwood Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization dedicated to the promotion of the civic and commercial progress of the community. We will continuously strive to maintain and foster a healthy business climate for Chamber members and the entire community.
COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP By Olga Vidriales, Director
Travis Credit Union
It is easy in these trying times to forget that our true
mission as business leaders is the well-being of the community
that serves us so well. By viewing Brentwood as more than just a
market, but as our partner, and committing our time and resources
to the common good, everyone comes out a winner! Here are three
ways to be a good steward:
#1 Be Generous With Your Time. We are all busy and we all have
responsibilities, but even the most harried of professionals can
spare a few hours for a good cause. Two exceptional Chamber events
are the Chamber Mixer and the Traveling Chamber Lounge. Each
event provides networking opportunities but more importantly one
can discover new and exciting ways to participate and give back to
our business community.
#2 Be Generous With Your Talent. We all have our talents that
can be of so much use to someone in the community. Reach out to a
new business; share with them your successful partnership with the
Chamber of Commerce. Give them the benefit of your experience.
Just a small gesture of welcome and solidarity.
#3 Be Generous With Your Resources. Even the smallest
contribution can make the difference with a community group.
Financially supporting community events and activities. The sum
of small donations of products or services equals a huge
difference in the community.
It’s that simple. If we band together to steward our
city, we can all reach greater heights. By sharing what we have
with the community, we will all see the Chamber, our own
businesses, and the city reach new levels of greatness.
