CHINTAN

JAI SHRI KRISHNA TO ALL BROTHERS AND

SISTERS.

Every now and then a question is raised for

the ‘purpose’ of having a body like

PANCHAYAT or in orthodox terms PUJYA

MAHAJAN. In the earlier issues of SAMPARK,

SAMAJ DARSHAN AND SAMVAD I had

attempted to explain its present function and

its significance in the past.

All kind of observable behavior within the

community was either promoted or prohibited

by the THATHAI BHATIA MAHAJAN in case of

our community since an ERA, of which we

have no records but the strong sense of

belonging has ever prevailed due to the

existence of this INSTITUTE that is our

PUJYA MAHAJAN. Members of the THATHAI

BHATIA COMMUNITY. OUR SANPRADAYIC

affilitation to NIRGUN PUSHTI BHAKTI MARG

took place in the fifteen century plus while

the founder of its core concept of the SAKAR

BRAHAMNVAD by Mahaprabhu Shri

Vallabhacharya who was still PRESENT on the

earth he had arrived very close to SINDH and

was somewhere KUTCCH.

PUJ MAHAJAN or PANCHAYAT is the oldest

community institute and in existence since the

times unknown. It has been functioning like a

thread of a garland that is our community .

Though its format keeps changing according

to different time and space but it has always

remained as a symbol of our cultural and

social bond giving us sustained SENSE OF

BELONGING and a certain historical identity

and bondage too.It is a MONUMENT and

symbol of our unity that though weakened due

to several reasons main being the partition

of the country and division of community

population between India and the Gulf

countries.

The new managing committee of Puj

Panchayat elect will soon be publishing a

souvenir acknowledging the contribution by

all the Institutes here and abroad as well the

individuals.

The mission of “Civits”

The “Civits” is a Latin word meaning returnto community The “Mission” word denotesto make dedicated efforts to discover andcommunicate solutions to the problems ofour community. Because it is in the bestinterest of us to think critically about ourimpact on the next generation. Thisphilosophy is driven by economics as wellas social goals. If we don’t take care of ourchildren today by providing the communityenvironment in which they can grow andthrive- We are losing leaders, thinkers ofnext generation of our community. Future ofour community lies in the success of ourchildren and the value that we as adultsensure they receive. We are to assist andmotivate our youths in learning the value ofserving their own community. The value of aman should be seen in what he gives andnot in what he is able to receive.

Recent published book “ you and yourcommunity” emphasizes as follows :

1. The greatest obstacle to communitydevelopment is the lack of active participationon the part of the members of community.

2. Lack of personal involvement bycommunity members in discoveringproblems for themselves and then findingappropriate solutions to them.

Last Year I was at Dubai and was reading “Khaleej Times” with interest. One letter tothe Editor had impressed me, the relevantportion I quote herewith :-

Praise, don’t criticize

People travel abroad in search of greenerpastures to feed and improve the condition

EDITORIALof their family and loved ones. But then theyattack one’s motherland for them the memoryof their home place evoked in them a waveof nostalgia

He requested the Editor to prefer articleswhich talk of India’s wonders, her beauty, herstrength, her culture. These would be apleasure to read as we relive the nostalgicfeeling on Friday morning. Indira Gandhionce said “There are two kinds of people, those who do the work and those who takethe credit. Try to be in the first group there isless competition.

And I would add , please encourage and patthose who do the work. They needencouragement to keep their spirit alive. Ihad toured a lot, interacted with differentcommunities but had not found any castegroup so cohesive, right mixture of tradition& Modernity as our Thathai Bhatia’s. Theyhad been able to keep their separate identitysince centuries. I Quote “East or West ThathaiBhatia’s are the best.” And our youngsterswhen in school or colleges are asked whothey are they proudly say “ Thathai Bhatia’s.

It is Albert Einstain who said :- The world is adangerous place, not because of those whodo evil but because of those who look on anddo nothing.

Ram C. Bhatia

George Bernard Shaw Says,

"I am of the opinion that my lifebelongs to the whole community

and as long as I live, it is my privelege to do for it

whatever I can."

BETTER THE WORLDAROUND YOU

TEMPLE VISIT OF SRI SRI RAVI SHANKAR

THE VISIT OF SRI SRI RAVI SHANKARA

SHRINATHJI TEMPLE, BAHRAIN

Better the world around you.

A river needs two banks to flow. The

difference between a flood and a normal

river is that water flow is regulated in a river

whereas during floods, water has no

direction. Similarly, the energy in our life

needs some direction to flow. Today, most

people are confused because there is no

direction in life. When we are happy, there

is a great deal of life-energy in us; but when

it is stagnates, it rots. For life-energy to

move in a direct ion, commitment is

essential.

Life runs with commitment. If we observe

all small or big things in life, they go with

certain commitment. A student take

admission in a school or college with a

commitment. Needless to say, a family runs

on a commitment: A mother is committed

to her child, child is committed to the

parents, husband and wife are both

committed to each other. Greater the

commitment, more is the authority and

things become easier. Smaller commitments

suffocate us because our capacity is much

more.

When we take up multiple tasks and if one

of them goes wrong, we can focus on other

jobs, so we are less affected by the failure

of that particular job. On the other hand, if

we take up a single task and if that goes

wrong, our working is greatly affected.

Usually, we base our commitment on

resources. On experimental level, if we take

up bigger commitment, resources are

attracted automatically.

Whatever we are committed to, brings us

strength. If you are committed to your family

then your family supports you, if you are

committed to society, you enjoy the support

of society. Commitment will always bring

comfort in the long run. One should make

a commitment to make this world a better

place to live.

Abiding in yourself , you become the

valentine for the whole world. Spirit is the

valentine of matter, and matter is the

valentine of spirit. They are made for each

6

other. They uphold each other. If you do

not respect the spirit, then the matter is

not pleased. If you honour the spirit then

you will care for the world, and when you

care for the world it will take care of you.

Unless you have a dream, you cannot

realise it. Every invention has come out

of a dream. Dream the impossible.

Obviously, dreaming employs something

which is beyond your perceived capacity.

Consider the faculty which is the preceptor

of the dream. Some dreams have impacted

your daily living and others have not. Some

dreams you remember, and others you

have forgotten.

We are al l born in this world to do

something wonderful and unique; don’t let

this opportunity pass by. Give your self the

freedom to dream and think big. Have the

courage and determination to achieve

those dreams that are dear to you. Many

a times, people who dreamt big were

ridiculed, but they remained strong to

achieve their goals . Do something

creative. Not a year should pass without

doing something creative.
