General InformationCOURSE HIGHLIGHTSThis is the third year for this course under the direction of Drs. Luis Scott and Hari Chaliki. This is a unique opportunity for cardiology professionals to gain applicable education in an interactive format. In keeping pace with current demands we will continue to offer an ABIM module in CV diseases for purposes of maintenance of certification and we will add ACLS recertification.
COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon completion of this course, participants should be able to:• Apply guidelines to prevent and improve morbidity/mortality rates and reduce cost of
care for patients with diabetes and heart disease. • Apply guidelines for preoperative evaluation of CV patients undergoing non-cardiac
surgery.• Review indications, use, and limitations of advanced device therapy for CHF.• Apply current guidelines for anticoagulation in the treatment of atrial fibrillation.• Explain advances in the treatment of atrial fibrillation.• Evaluate application of guidelines for the prevention of cardiovascular (CV) disease.• Identify barrier-preventing application of CV guidelines.• Examine appropriate criteria for cerebro-vascular and coronary revascularization.• Analyze controversial topics in coronary intervention.• Understand the evaluation and treatment of aortic and mitral valve disease
INTENDED AUDIENCEPracticing adult cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiovascular trainees, general internists, and allied health personnel with a cardiovascular interest.

MEETING LOCATION & ACCOMMODATIONSEnchantment Resort • 525 Boynton Canyon Road • Sedona, Arizona 86336 (800) 826-4180 • www.enchantmentresort.comThe Enchantment Resort is located about two hours north of Phoenix, temperatures average 20 degrees cooler than the Phoenix area in the summer.You are urged to make reservations early. A limited block of guest rooms have been reserved for attendees with a special course rate of $220 single or double occupancy per night. Group rates will be honored 3 days prior and 3 days following the course dates, based upon space availability. To receive the special rate, you must make reservations before the room block is filled by the expiration date of July 11, 2012. Reservations will be taken following this date based upon resort room availability, at the contracted meeting rate. The resort fee is $15 per room per night and includes high speed internet access in the guest rooms, access to the spa, nightly turn down service with bottled water, and local / 800 phone call access fees. Maid and bellman gratuities are optional and are to be paid at the individual guest’s discretion. Attendees are responsible for their own reservations. The standard hotel reservation cancellation policy will apply to individual reservations unless otherwise specified.
