The City of Pittsburgh is shrinking The City of Pittsburgh had 333,527 residents in 2000. This is a

50% percent population loss over five decades since 1950. During the same period, the United States gained 85%.

Goal of this Task Force: Develop a plan to recycle

tax delinquent and abandoned properties

Turn them back into revenue-generating land

Stabilize property values

Increase the viability of our neighborhoods
