In the name of Allah, the most beneficent and merciful

There is nothing greater than acquiring and spreading knowledge that is useful to all. Prophet Mohammed (sal) says, “Acquire knowledge, for he who acquires it in the way of Allah performs an act

of piety; he who spreads of it, praises the Lord; he who seeks it, adores Allah; he who dispenses instruction in it, bestows alms; and he who imparts it to others, performs an act of devotion to Allah” (Bukhari, Muslim).

Our college has dedicated itself for this great cause of spreading knowledge for the past fifty years. From very humble beginning in 1969, our college has grown leaps and bounds and now stands tall in the pinnacle of institutions of higher education.

May Allah bless our college with His choicest blessings as it strives always to spread quality higher education to make morally upright, academically outstanding and gentle mannered youths who are always useful to the society and the nation.

Dr. P.M. AADil AhMeD M.Com., M.Phil., Ph.D.Principal

Welcome toMazharul ulooM college, aMbur

By the grace of Almighty Allah, we are in the Golden Jubilee year of our college by completing 50 years of educational excellence. We have many thanks and gratitude to Allah for this attainment.

The importance of education has been emphasized repeatedly in the Quran. Allah teaches us to pray, “O, My Lord! Increase me in knowledge” (Quran 20:114). This verse indicates one must always seek knowledge and pray for its increase.

The dreams and aspirations of our Ambur Muslim Educational Society are fulfilled as our college has produced numerous graduates, post graduates and research scholars who are serving now in better positions throughout the World.

I pray that the college to continue progressing by leaps and bounds in future. I wish the Principal, the Staff and the Students all success in all their future endeavors.

M. NAzAr MohAMeD Secretary & Correspondent

abouT The college

location

The Mazharul Uloom College was founded by the Ambur Muslim Educational Society (AMES) in 1969 with the united efforts of a dedicated team under the initiative, support and guidance of the great leather industrialist and philanthropist late Janab Anaikar Abdul Shukoor Sahib.

The College started with a few students and has now grown over the years like a snowball with increasing number of students and teaching and non-teaching staff catering to the ever increasing student population. It is situated on its own grounds of 20.5 acres along with the newly founded AMES College of Education from the academic year 2003-2004.

The College, true to the vision of its founders, caters to learners at large transcending the limits of caste, colour and creed with 25 courses - 12 UG courses, 4 PG courses & 9 Research Programmes (4 M.Phil. Part Time / Full Time & 5 Ph.D. Part Time) housing 1300 students and more than 100 staff.

“Mazharul Uloom” means the threshold of knowledge or the fountain of knowledge. It refers to the source from where knowledge flows.

The College Motto is “Striver Secures Success” and its emblem has four symbols in it- crescent, lotus, book and torch symbolizing growth, knowledge, source of learning and light dispelling darkness of ignorance respectively. The Staff and the Management expect every Student of the institution to live upto the Motto of the College.

The College apart from its regular courses imparts moral and value education to the students. The teaching plan gives quality education to the students to enable them to become good citizens of our country.

The College also conducts awareness campaigns, personality development and service-oriented programs etc. to instill leadership qualities, human values, team spirit, etc. in the minds of the students.

Mazharul Uloom College is located on a sprawling campus in Ambur, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu, India, easily reachable by bus and by train from Chennai and Bangaluru cities or even directly from prominent cities of India.

• To bring out the hidden potentials of individuals through comprehensive higher learning.

• To open the doors of opportunities through updating and modernizing course content.

• To provide secular education in conformity with global needs.

The institution aims at encouraging and improving secular and moral education of youth.
