Myers-Briggs Pumpkin Soup Sensing (S) Directions: Ingredients
(as printed in actual cookbook): # sliced mushrooms1 T curry powder
1 c. evaporated milk c. chopped onions 1 # sieved, cooked
pumpkindash nutmeg 1 T butter3 c. broth (vegetable or chicken) dash
ginger1 T flour 1 T honeysalt and pepper Lay out necessary
equipment: heavy pan, knife, caliper, thermometer, carpenters
level, tablespoons, measuring cups. Check ingredients. Consult
cookbook or call friend to find out how much nutmeg/ginger is in a
dash, and how much salt and pepper to make a batch of pumpkin soup.
Chop mushrooms and onions; caliper will be helpful here 3/16
thickness. Saut mushrooms and onions in butter. After sauting in
butter, add 1 T flour. This thickens the sauce a bit before adding
the liquids and results in a thicker soup. You will know the
mushrooms are cooked when a table knife encounters resistance upon
cutting one. Add flour and broth; be sure measuring cup is on level
surface when measuring - carpenters level will be helpful. Add
everything else except milk. Add milk and heat without boiling;
thermometer will be helpful keep under 200 . Serve in tureen and
bowls pleasing to the eye, and garnish with chopped fresh
parsley.

ginger1 T flour 1 T honeysalt and pepper There is a lot of
creativity in this soup. A good, rich pumpkin soup offers potential
for synchronous cooking. Open the refrigerator and let your
imagination roam some pieces of chicken, tomatoes, a dab of
mustard, chutney, Toms Hot Sauce. Whatever, but since you are
calling it pumpkin soup you might want to have some pumpkin in it,
but mashed carrots, squash, or even sweet potatoes will do. You
might want to start by sauting any ingredients that need this
process. This way, you will need just 1 pan. Add the rest of the
ingredients and taste until it seems right to you. While the soup
heats you will probably want to make some rolls to go with it and
since you are in the kitchen anyway, you might as well clean the
refrigerator and defrost the freezer. While you are cleaning the
dishes, you can make plans for a great soup tasting event or for
the restaurant you are going to open. Serve the soup in whatever is
clean, or send someone to the store for paper bowls.

recipe can be cooked quite efficiently if some thought is given to
the process melt the butter in the pan over low heat while you chop
the onions and mushrooms. If the broth has been refrigerated (which
will help with skimming off the fat), it will cook more quickly if
you let it warm to room temperature. Analyze the equipment. Try to
use as few utensils, pans and bowls as possible. For instance, if
you first measure the curry powder, then the butter, then the honey
with the T, you will have to wash it only once. Analyze the recipe.
Alterations should be made from the beginning. How many people are
you serving? How much will each eat? Is the recipe large enough?
Too large? Proceed as with sensing directions except realize that
it is more logical to serve this soup from a pitcher.

some ingredients according to who will be eating the soup, so these
are just guidelines. If there is someone who doesnt like mushrooms,
you can leave out the mushrooms, or substitute potatoes. If onions
are hard on someones stomach, you can leave them out or substitute
green peppers. A full T of curry powder may sound too strong for
someone, so you can leave it out or reduce the amount or substitute
Beau Monde Seasoning. In fact, you may want to wait until almost
the last minute to decide whether or not to serve pumpkin soup at
all. You may want to omit it entirely from your menu and serve
another soup or dish that seems more appropriate. Serve with a warm
smile.
