Step 1: Clear your Firearm - Check the chamber, the cylinder and magazine well.

Step 2: Gather Parts and Tools Needed

1. Ruger SP101/GP100 Trigger Spring Kit2. Hammer3. 1/16” Punch4. 3/32” Punch5. Needle Nose Pliers6. Flat head Screwdriver7. M*Carbo Polishing Kit8. Dremel or rotary tool9. Feeler Gauge Set

10. Eye Protection11. Firearm Schematics

Step 3: Take the flat head screwdriver and remove the grip panel screw.

Step 4: Twist the grip allowing the grip panels to pop out.

Step 5: Remove the Disassembly Pin.

Step 6: Twist the grip and pop off the other side of the grip panel.

Step 7: Remove the Grip Retaining Pin by using a punch to push the pin through to the other side.

Step 8: Slide the grip off.

Step 9: Half cock the Hammer. This will allow us access to the hole at the bottom of the hammer strut.

Step 10: Take the Disassembly pin and drop it into the hole at the bottom of the hammer strut.

Step 11: The tension is captured on the main spring assembly. Make sure the hammer goes back forward and the assembly will drop right out.

Step 12: Notice when the main spring assembly came out, the way it is oriented is important. There is a slant/slope to one side and and a curvature with a cutout and two points at the bottom. The side with the slant/slope and the cutout will be oriented to face the tip of the barrel.

Step 13: Next to remove the hammer assembly, push out the hammer pivot pin by using the 3/32” punch. Push the pin out the rest of the way.

Step 14: Now pull back ½ - ¾ of the way on the hammer and the hammer will slide right out.

Step 15: With the Hammer removed, take your 1/16” punch and push out the Hammer dog pivot pin. Keep your finger on the Hammer dog, it is under tension.

Step 16: Now you can remove the Hammer dog from the hammer.

Step 17: Now remove the Trigger Guard assembly. Take the 3/32” punch and slide it through the hole in the frame and push on the Trigger Guard Latch, Do this simultaneously while pulling up on the Trigger Guard.

Step 18: Your trigger guard should now be seperate. Set the rest of the firearm aside.

Step 19: Do not pull the trigger while the trigger guard is out. Barely pull back on the trigger and remove the Transfer Bar. Transfer bar is out.

Step 20: Now focus on the Pawl and Pawl Spring. When removing the Pawl spring be careful, the spring is under tension and will fly off. Take a rag and place over top of the trigger assembly and push forward on the Pawl. The spring will pop out.

Step 21: Once the Pawl spring and plunger is removed, remove the Pawl.

Step 22: Compress the Trigger Guard Latch.

Step 23: Using a punch push out the Latch Retaining Pin.

Step 24: Now you can remove the Trigger Guard Latch. Set Aside.

Step 25: Remove the Trigger Return Spring and set aside.

Step 26: After removing the Trigger Return Spring, you will remove the Trigger Link Plunger. Set aside.

Step 27: Next, tap out the Trigger Hinge Pin by using the 1/16” punch

Step 28: After removing the trigger hinge pin, remove the trigger from the trigger guard.

Step 29: Remove the Trigger Plunger. This should fall out if turned over. Set aside.

Step 31: POLISHING-

Step 32: Open up M*Carbo Trigger Spring Kit

Step 33: Start with the trigger guard

Step 34: Install Synthetic Grease in where the trigger return spring is located and swirl the grease around

Step 35: Coat sides of trigger with synthetic grease and spread

Step 36: Place shims on both sides of trigger

Step 37: Line up Shims

Step 38: Make sure trigger link drops in the trigger return housing

Step 39: If Shims move out of place make sure to tap them back to be lined up

Step 40: Drop trigger plunger with the flat part down, have the point facing toward the cylinder latch. Make sure the notch pushed in all the way.

Step 41: Make sure all holes are lined up and place the pivot pin

Step 42: Place pawl spring back into the recess in the back of the trigger

Step 43: Place the pawl in the hole by the pawl spring

Step 44: Use a flat head screwdriver to push the pawl spring all the way down and make sure it is fully seated

Step 45: Push the Pawl back and keep some tension on it to make sure it doesn’t jump out of place

Step 46: Place Transfer bar

Step 47: Push the trigger back a minimal amount to make sure the transfer bar fits in place, then move the trigger back to its original location

Step 48: Replace the trigger link plunger with cylinder side first

Step 49: Place in trigger return spring

Step 50: Place in trigger guard latch and compress it down, then place trigger guard latch pin and press both in simultaneously to have them both go back into place

Step 51: Add synthetic grease before inserting the trigger guard back to the frame.

Step 52: When placing trigger guard back make sure the transfer bar and the pawl don't get caught under the cylinder latch

Step 53: Place trigger guard back into the frame

Step 54: Use flathead to help push in on the latch

Step 55: Make sure the trigger guard is pushed back into place

Step 56: Start to put the hammer assembly back together

Step 57: Place synthetic grease in the channel where the Hammer Dog moves back and forth

Step 58: Insert the plunger and spring

Step 59: Place Hammer Dog with the longer portion facing the sear on the hammer

Step 60: Place in the shorter pin (pivot pin) from the bottom. Make sure it is lined up and push the pin through

Step 62: Place hammer pivot pin in and measure how many shims are needed

Step 63: Coat both sides of the shims with the synthetic grease

Step 66: Push hammer pivot pin all the way out

Step 67: Place shim on other side and place it in spot, have it line up

Step 68: Place the hammer pivot pin back in and have it go through while still havin it line up . You can push on the table to push it through

Step 69: Main spring needs to be assembled. Use bench block to put the spring together

Step 70: The main seat points and slant/slope needs to be pointing forward to the tip of the barrel

Step 71: Place synthetic grease and place the hammer spring also

Step 72: Place the main spring seat on the bench block

Step 73: push with the hammer strut down on the opening of the mainspring seat and while doing so push the pivot pin into the opening on the bottom part of the hammer strut

Step 75: Make sure the mainspring seat sits on the notch

Step 76: Pull the hammer back to drop out the disassembly pin

Step 77: Insert the grip and grip retaining pin

Step 80: Check Trigger Pull to make sure the double and single action are butter smooth and shims are in place in the hammer
