Programs Funded By acFe

Art and Craft Group Join others and learn a variety of skills with Phil our great new tutor, while sharing a cuppa and making new friends. 10.30am-12.30pm Starting Thursday 5th February.

Sewing Come together on Monday afternoons to sew. More experienced students support newer members to develop new skills . Please contact office with any enquires. Gold coin donation. Starting 2nd February.

Acrylic Painting Creations Learn the techniques of this flexible medium with Gerda on Tuesday mornings for 8 weeks. Cost $96. Starting Tuesday 3rd February.

Writers’ Groups Fun and friendly groups for the budding writer to express ideas and keep motivated. New members welcome. Friday mornings 10.00am or Friday evenings at 7.30pm. Gold coin donation.

Tai Chi for Good Health Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that can be done by all ages either standing or sitting. Join Eva Tan a qualified instructor. Tuesday evenings 8 weeks from 3rd March 6.00-7.00pm. Cost $100.

GROW Support for people living with mental illness. Thursday 5th February at 10.30am-12.30pm.

Beginners/Intermediate Italian Learn to speak Italian with our native Italian tutor Rosella. Intermediate Wednesday mornings 9.30-11.30am, Beginners 12.30-2.30pm. Starting 4th February. Cost $120 for 8 lessons.

Yoga/Fit and Fabulous/ Walking Group Come and join MCCI in relaxation and fitness. Starting Wednesday 4th February will be Yoga at 4.00-5.00pm with Tanya. The Fit and Fabulous Group will meet from 5.00-6.00pm including private weigh-ins, relaxation techniques, meditation and much more. Then from 6.00-7.00pm a Walking Group will be taking in the sights of Mornington.

Marine License Training Course covers both Marine License (boat) and Personal Watercraft Endorsement (Jet Ski). Photo ID required. Course runs on Wednesday evenings 6.00-10.15pm starting 4th February. Cost $120.

Counselling Individual, couples ,group or family counselling is now available with a qualified counsellor. Free of charge. Contact the office on 5975 4772 for more details.

Community Kitchen Expressions of interest are now being taken for Community Kitchen. Running Wednesday evenings in Term 1.

African Drumming Experience the rich and vibrant culture of African drumming. Wednesday evenings starting 4th February. Please contact office with any enquires.

Level II in First Aid This accredited course will run throughout the year, day and night classes available. CPR and anaphylaxis also available. We will also be offering a number of First Aid workshops for parents throughout the year, focussing on children and babies.

Self Defence for Women (Safe International) Safe International offers self-defense for all walks of life - from students to seniors. Enquire at office for details.

Peninsula Support Services Peninsula Support Services run educational and support groups for people who experience anxiety, depression and mental illness. Peer Support – Monday 1.00-4.00pm, Lets Thrive – Tuesday 1.00-4.00pm, Living Happy – Friday 1.00-4.00pm.

Beginners Computers Comprehensive courses starting from the beginning run in small groups covering the basics. Wednesday mornings 9.30am-12.00noon starting Wednesday 4th February or Thursday afternoons 1.00-3.00pm starting 5th February. Evening Advance Computer class will begin on Thursday 5th February 6.00-8.00pm.

Write Stuff If you are writing on your own it can be tremendously helpful and stimulating to attend classes with other writers. You can then go back to your writing with renewed energy. Learn essential techniques for journal writing and the framing of a story. Thursday afternoons 1.00-3.00pm, starting 5th February.

Advanced Beginners “The Next Step” For those with the basic knowledge and wishing to do more. Offers a generous amount of assistance to expand your skills and tackle new areas with confidence. 12.30-3.00pm Wednesdays, starting 4th February.

MYOB Ledgers, Debtor, Creditors, inventory, payroll and GST. Starting Monday 2nd February for 8 weeks from 9.30-12.30pm.

Bookkeeping For those starting out in a small or home based business. Learn about profit and loss statements, GST and BAS. Starting Monday 2nd February for 8 weeks from 1.00-4.00pm.

Introduction /Intermediate to Sewing and Fashion Design Learn all the basic techniques you require to start creating and sewing your own fashion designs. Let your creativity run wild and create something unique. Wednesday evenings 6.00-9.00pm starting 4th February.

Digital Diaries and Devices Do you want to organise your photos, master digital devices, have fun and learn new skills? Use a computer and your photos to tell a story. Learn new skills in file management, saving to USB or CD and printing. Record and present your photo memories in your own individual style to cherish forever. 12.30-3.00pm Wednesday, starting 4th February.

Creative Writing Kick start your creativity with tutor Lyndon who will take you on a journey of exploring creative writing in all its diversity. Lyndon will work with you in practical exercises for imaginative and quality writing. Tuesday Evenings 6.00-8.00pm starting 3rd February.

Healthy Eating and Cooking Budget, shop, cook, share and follow recipes. Learn healthy cooking tips and Hospitality skills while preparing, serving and eating a delicious meal. 12.30-3.00pm. Starting Tuesday3rd February.

Reading, Writing or Maths Skills: For Work or Personal Development These courses are designed for those

who want to build upon reading, writing or maths skills to assist them in everyday life, social situations or work. The classes are friendly, supportive and in small groups.

Reading and Writing Tuesday mornings 9.30-12noon.

Basic Math for the Workplace Tuesday afternoons 12.30-3.00pm.

Assistance and support in gaining literacy skills For work and/or life can be provided one on one or in a classroom environment. If you would like an appointment with our literacy co-coordinator to confidentially discuss our programs in reading and writing or numeracy. Please call 5975 4772.
