The MCCVLC Next Generation Task Force:

The MCCVLC Next Generation Task Force Charge:• To determine the type and extent of currently provided

services of the MCCVLC.• To investigate the need for improvement in current

Page 4: MCCVLC – The New Initiative

The MCCVLC Next Generation Task Force:

Assumptions revealed:• The current model is built for institutions and not for students

– the process is very fragmented in the students’ mind,• Students view the MCCVLC as the last option to getting a

course,• There is increased competition in the market place,• Data shows an unmet need, • Institutions are not incentivized to grow their online offerings,

and• The name itself, Michigan Community College Virtual Learning

Collaborative, is obscure and students do not know what it means.

Can We Build a Better User Experience that influences Outcomes ?

Knowing how to navigate the various systems for enrolling in classes can be complex. Is Knowing “What to do Next” a Barrier?

Can we streamline processes for “the” core Activities ? 1. User Experience Integration (Mobile, Smart Tools, Collaboration) 2. SIS System Integration (Data Exchange and Analytics)3. An Agile Systems that can change with Market demands (Mobile, Online Courses, etc.)
