McDougall CottageMcDougall Cottage, an 1858 granite and limestone labourer’s house, is located in downtown Cambridge in the historic factory district. Home for more than a century to two families of hardworking Scots, the McDougalls and the Bairds, this charming cottage with its pocket-sized gardens, boasts some of the most spectacular hand-painted friezes and trompe l’oeil ceilings Ontario has to offer.
The Cottage serves as an interpretation centre, hosting a variety of special events that celebrate the area’s Scottish heritage. Regular events include monthly Ceilidhs, Tartan Teas and Kids in Kilts afternoons.
Hours of Operation March 5 to April 30 Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
AdmissionBy donation unless otherwise noted.
The Cottage will be open for Family Day February 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Workshop: Printmaking for Adults – Celtic Design Linoblock PrintsSunday, March 29, 1 to 4 p.m.Betty Praught and Kari Mullin from Galt’s Riverside Print Group share their knowledge and printmaking expertise.
