Unless stated otherwise, all dated births, deaths and marriages occurred in the Falklands. The McINTOSH family appear to have arrived in the Falkland Islands prior to October 1845. If Andres Pitaluga was the father of James, born 8 November 1845, then they would have arrived prior to February 1845. The McIntosh family may have been from Dumfries in Scotland. On 4 October 1845 Alexander McINTOSH purchased part of Town Lot 10 from Thomas Hearnden for £12-10-0. The section measured 165ft north to south and 33ft east to west with a frontage to the north side of John Street. In January 1849 Alexander still owned the plot. On 12 December 1894 Alexander MacIntosh PITALUGA (See (1) (5)) granted the plot to the Trustees of the Christ Church Cathedral for one shilling. In the October 1846 Census [D2, page 233] the family were recorded as: Alexander McINTOSH, age 40, labourer and householder; Mary McINTOSH, age 42; John McINTOSH, age 19, labourer; Joseph McINTOSH, age 14; Helen McINTOSH, age 12; Margaret EDWARDS, age 20 & James EDWARDS, age 1. Alexander, a labourer and Stanley resident was a private in the Mounted Corps of Military Force of the Falkland Islands in 1847 and 1848. [E2: 140; 150; 188; H6] Alexander was confined for 36 days from 24 May 1848 for common assault. Alexander signed a petition to the Governor re conditions in August 1848. [C4: 35; 65; H7] In the February 1851 census the family were recorded as: Alexander McINTOSH, age 45, labourer from Scotland; Mary McINTOSH, age 46, wife; Margaret McINTOSH (EDWARDS), age 23; John McINTOSH, age 21, gaucho; Joseph McINTOSH, age 19, apprentice to carpenter; Helen McINTOSH, age 17, servant; James PINTALUGA, age 3, child of Andreas PINTALUGA; Andreas PINTALUGA, age 2, child of Andreas PINTALUGA; Silestina PINTALUGA, age 1, child of Andreas PINTALUGA. Alexander, from England, was recorded as being on Mr Lafone’s Estate at Hope Place in 1851. The McINTOSH family appear to have arrived in the Falkland Islands prior to October 1845. If Andres Pitaluga was the father of James, born 8 November 1845, then they would have arrived prior to February 1845. The McIntosh family may have been from Dumfries in Scotland. On 7 September 1856 the 7 ton cutter Kate arrived in Stanley with the body of Alex McINTOSH who had died of a fit at Limpet Creek. The Kate had been on a sealing voyage. Children of Alexander and Mary McINTOSH: 1. Margaret McINTOSH was born circa 1825 (possibly in Scotland). Margaret was married to

? EDWARDS (not in the Falkland Islands). Margaret, a widow, was married to Andres PITALUGA of Hope Place, Lafonia, 8 December 1851 in the Parish of the Holy Trinity by Banns by James Leith Moody, Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were Edward McMurray and Alexander McIntosh. Andreas was born in Gibraltar 26 September 1822. Andres died 16 June 1878, age 55 from dropsy and is buried in Grave C267. Margaret died 30 April 1879, age 54 of disease of the heart and is buried in Grave C268. A coroner’s inquisition was held on her body (no details held). [D18; 259]

2. John R McINTOSH was born circa 1827

(possibly in Scotland). As at 8 April 1846 John was recorded as living at Sparrow Cove and looking after the cattle kept there. [D: 5/46]

John, a settler was entitled to take seal, whale, whalebone and fish 18 September 1847. John, a cattle catcher and Stanley resident was a private in the Mounted Corps of Military Force of the Falkland Islands in 1847 and 1848. [E2:

140; 150; 189; H6] John was found drowned in the Malo River 21 June 1861 and was buried in Grave C283. He was working as a gaucho at Salvador at the time of his death and his age was recorded as 33. Mackintosh’s Pass is named after him. John, Joseph and their nephew Joseph B PETALUGA share a headstone.

3. Joseph Alexander McINTOSH was born circa

April 1832 (possibly Montevideo, Uruguay). Joseph left school in 1848 and on 2 July 1848 requested the Sophy to go to Anson to procure beef. [C4, pg 46: B7; 214] Joseph signed a petition to the Governor about conditions in August 1848. [C4: 35; 65; H7] In a List of Aliens dated 26 March 1852 Joseph registered himself as a carpenter from South America and received permission to reside in the Falkland Islands 27 March 1852. [H8: E4; 48] Joseph died 4 October 1856, age 24.5, of disease of the heart and is buried in Grave C281. He is recorded as a mariner born of Scotch parents. Joseph, John and their nephew Joseph B PETALUGA share a headstone.

4. Helen McINTOSH was born circa 1834 (possibly Montevideo, Uruguay – family history says

Glasgow). Helen left the Government school in 1848. [C4, pg 46] Helen was married to Samuel BONNER 14 August 1856 by Henry Martyn Faulkner, Colonial Chaplain in Holy Trinity Church by Banns, both of full age. Both signed with an X. The witnesses were W H Mannix and John Bonner. Samuel came to the Falkland Islands with his brother William either with or shortly after their brother John arrived in 1850. The 1841 English Census records Samuel age 12 in the borough of Liverpool. Samuel is recorded in the Falklands 1851 Census as being age 21 and a saddler. Helen died 6 July 1889, age 55, of cerebral disease and is buried in Grave C272. Samuel died 7 February 1896 at San Carlos Sth, age 67, of pyloric cancer and is buried in Grave I694.

FIRST GENERATION Children of Margaret (1) and Andreas PITALUGA: 1. James EDWARDS/PETALUGA born 8 November 1845 in Stanley. The church records

show him as James EDWARDS baptised 4 January 1846 to Margaret EDWARDS, dressmaker of Stanley, father unknown. Illegitimate. The birth register records him as James PETALUGA and the parents as Andres PETALUGA and Margaret EDWARDS formally McINTOSH. James married (1) Cassiemeria CHAMOSA (also known as Catherine LLAMOSA), age 19 of Smyleys Village, 22 April 1874 in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Henry C Lory Act Col Chaplain. The witnesses were John Dettleff and Peter Verelia (Varela) James was working as a gaucho at Port Howard at the time. Cassiemeria died in childbirth 21 June 1881 and is buried in Grave Ei444. James, a widower, was married to (2) Maryann BYRNE née PALVIER(?), age 41 and a widow, 21 March 1888 at Stanley at the house of Mr White according to the rites and ceremonies of the Church of Scotland By Governor's Licence by William Hill Philip Minister. The witness was Jane White. James was working as a shepherd in Stanley at the time. James died 2 October 1903 and is buried in Grave I665. Mary Ann died 17 March 1924 and is buried in Grave K897.

2. Andres PETALUGA born 7 December 1848 in Stanley and baptised Andreas EDWARDS

17 December 1848 by Holy Trinity Church. Farmer. Died 25 December 1891 of an apoplexy and is buried at Port Edgar.

3. Celestine PETALUGA born 3 January 1850 in Stanley and baptised Celestina EDWARDS

18 March 1850 by Holy Trinity Church. Married (1) Roland Richard HUBBARD, carpenter from the United States, 24 August 1870 at Trinity Church Stanley according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England after Banns by Charles Bull MA Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were Julia Sarah Hansen, Caroline Matilda Dawson, Walter Felton and James Pitaluga. Richard accidentally drowned 9 June 1891 at San Carlos. The local periodical of the time states “Roland R Hubbard left the “Hengist” at 4pm June 6th and is supposed to have fallen out of the dinghy while sculling her ashore, as he has not been seen since.” The “Hengist” was at San Carlos loading frozen mutton for England. [CM June

1891] His body was buried in Grave 1 in Port San Carlos cemetery. Married (2) William Stephen ELMER, shepherd of Stanley, 15 June 1893 in the house of Mrs Claxton according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Edwin C Aspinall Assist Col Chaplain. The witnesses were H J Pitaluga and Emma Elmer. Celestine was living at the Rincon Grande at the time. William died 10 November 1917, age 62 and is buried in Grave E820. Celestina died 5 September 1929 and is buried in Grave E995.

4. Joseph Benito “Pepe” PETALUGA born circa April 1852 (no record in either church or

Government registers). Baptised by Holy Trinity Church 7 October 1855. Died 30 November 1955 of putrid sore throat, age 3 years and 7 months, and is buried in Grave C282. Joseph shares a headstone with his uncles John and Joseph McINTOSH.

5. Alexander McIntosh PETALUGA born 28 November 1853 in Stanley. His father is

recorded as a shoemaker. Camp man. Married Agnes MERCER 18 September 1878 in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Lowther E Brandon MA Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were W K Cameron and George Mercer. Both were living in Stanley at the time. Agnes died 11 June 1903, age 48, and is buried in Grave A23. Alexander re-married and in March 1944 his widow was living at 1454 Balfour venue, Shaughnessy, Vancouver BC, Canada. [FIC/EF/]

6. Henry John “Harry” PETALUGA born 13 January 1856. His father is recorded as a shoemaker. Married Mary Margaret Ann BOUND 21 October 1896 in the house of Mrs W Bonner. Henry died 27 February 1925 and is buried in Grave J828. Mary died 20 November 1961 and is buried in Grave O1707.

7. Richard PETALUGA born 19 January 1858. Richard was one of three Falkland Islands

crew (Charles TAYLOR & William LIPPERT) on the cutter Dora which was owned by George Hallett and sent to Sandy point, Chile, on board the steamer 27 August 1889. The Dora was wrecked on the coast of Dawson Island soon after and the crew had to make their way 50miles across the country back to the Mission Station on Dawson Island. [FIM January

1990]. 8. Arthur Bailey PETALUGA born 17 February 1860 in Stanley. Insane in Montevideo,

Uruguay in 1921. Died age 76. 9. Frederick PETALUGA born 30 December 1861 in Stanley. Died 22 June 1875 in Stanley

from erysipelas and is buried in Grave C284. 10. Helen Malvina PETALUGA born 18 June 1865 in Stanley. Married William BONNER,

labourer at San Carlos, 18 April 1886 at Salvador according to the rites & ceremonies of Presbyterian Church by Governor's Licence William Hill Philip Minister. The witnesses were John McLeod and James Pitaluga. Helen was living at Salvador at the time. (NB First cousin. See Helen McIntosh line). William died 23 April 1942 and is buried in Grave O1215. Helen died 2 February 1944 and is buried in Grave O1263.

11. Maria Louisa PETALUGA born 13 June 1867 in Stanley. Died 19 November 1867 from

erysipelas and is buried in Grave C 271. Children of Helen (2) and Samuel BONNER: 1. Mary Jane BONNER born 18 July 1856. Married John McLEOD, a Scottish shepherd

working at San Carlos, 25 May 1880 at Darwin according to the Presbyterian form after banns by Rev A Yeoman Minister. The witnesses were John Bonner and Margaret Bonner.

2. John BONNER born 31 January 1858 in Stanley. 3. Samuel BONNER born 23 May 1860 in Stanley. Labourer. Died 14 November 1933 and is

buried in Grave K1048. 4. William BONNER born 26 August 1862 in Stanley. Labourer. Married Helen Malvina

PITALUGA, 18 April 1886 at Salvador according to the rites & ceremonies of Presbyterian Church by Governor's Licence William Hill Philip Minister. The witnesses were John McLeod and James Pitaluga. Helen was living at Salvador at the time. (NB First cousin. See Margaret McIntosh/Edwards line ). William died 23 April 1942 and is buried in Grave O1215. Helen died 2 February 1944 and is buried in Grave O1263.

5. Margaret BONNER born 12 December 1864 at “Everton”, San Carlos. Married Arthur

James BARNES, English shepherd working at Salvador 1 October 1886 at Port Sussex according to the rites & ceremonies of Church of Scotland by Governor's Licence William Hill Philip Minister. The witnesses were John Bonner and Alice Bonner. Margaret was living at Port Sussex at the time. Margaret was admitted to gaol 6 May 1905 as an alleged lunatic and was certified insane 8 May 1905. Her sister Alice and her mother were recorded as having been afflicted with insanity too. [B26; 274] By April 1917 Margaret had been

lodged in the lunatic asylum in Montevideo. [FIC/EG/1917] Margaret died in the asylum in Montevideo and was buried there 4 April 1918. [FIM May 1918] Arthur died 15 October 1940 and is buried in Grave J1169.

6. Alice BONNER born 4 August 1867 in Stanley. Married Robert REIVE, shepherd age 24,

15 June 1891 in the house of Mrs Brown according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Lowther E Brandon MA Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were John Bonner and Ellen Reive. Both Alice and Robert were living at Port Sussex at the time. Alice died at Port Sussex 25 May 1898 from exhaustion on acute maula and is buried in Grave A83. Robert died 27 February 1936 in Stanley and is buried in Grave K1092.

7. Alexander BONNER born 2 December 1872 at Fitzroy Road, Stanley. Shepherd. Married

Jessie CLARK, age 19, 12 August 1897 at San Carlos South according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Lowther E Brandon MA Dean & Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were Samuel Bonner, Margaret Alice Bonner and William Bonner. Both Alexander and Jessie were living at San Carlos South at the time.

8. Helen BONNER born 25 May 1875 in Stanley. Married Edward CURRAN, age 27 of

Douglas Station, 17 August 1896 in the Parish Church according to the Rites & Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Lowther E Brandon MA Dean & Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were Alexander McIntosh Bonner and Edith Adelaide Kiddle. Helen was living at San Carlos at the time. Edward died 20 January 1945 and is buried at Douglas Station. Helen died 4 April 1948 and is buried in Grave C1377.

SECOND GENERATION Children of James (1) (1) and Cassiemeria PETALUGA: 1. Rosa PETALUGA born 5 May 1875 at Port Purvis, West Falkland. Rose was married to

Andreas Donald PITALUGA (first cousin), sheep farmer, 22 September 1926 at the Registrar's Office, Stanley by Special Licence by M Craigie-Halkett, Registrar General. The witnesses were M Kelway and A I Fleuret. Andreas, age 52, died 25 February 1936 and was buried 28 February 1936 in Grave A1091. [Obituary Penguin 26 Feb 1936, pg 1; 27 Feb 1936,

pg 1; 3 Mar 1936, pg 1-2] Rose emigrated to England in 1937 and in 1948 was living at 42 Zetland Road, Bristol. Her ashes were returned to the Falkland Islands and buried in her husband’s grave.

2. James Andrew “Jim” PETALUGA born 29 July 1876 at Port Purvis, West Falkland.

Navvy at Hill Cove. Jim was married to Ellen Stanbury LYES, age 19 of Hill Cove, 22 May 1899 in the house of Mr J Halliday according to the Rites & Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Edwin Coupland Aspinall Canon of Christ Church & Camp Chaplain. The witnesses were John Jardin Halliday and Rose Pitaluga. Jim died circa 1976 after turning 100 in Devon, England.

3. Mary Ellen PETALUGA born 6 March 1878 at Shag Cove, West Falkland. Mary was

married to (1) Gaston Nicholas FLEURET, butcher age 22, 15 October 1894 in the house of Mr Richard N Goss according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Edwin C Aspinall Assistant Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were Richard Goss and Rose Pitaluga. On 16 June 1903 Gaston went as a guide to three men belonging to the sealing schooner Beatrice L Corkum on a shooting trip in one of the schooner’s boats. The boat overturned in Port William and Gaston and two others drowned [CM JUL 1903]. He is buried in Grave C261. Mary was married to (2) John George KELWAY, mechanic, 22 July 1924 at Christ Church Cathedral by J Stanley Smith, Clerk in Holy Orders. The witnesses were Douglas Fleuret and Gladys Fleuret. John died 15 December 1920, age 64, and is buried in Grave Q1590. Mary died 20 November 1958 at Stanley and is buried in Grave Q1622.

4. Ada Margaret PETALUGA born 14 September 1879 at Shag Cove, West Falkland. Ada

was married to Charles Henry SHORT, shepherd at New House, Douglas Station, 31 May 1899 in the house of Mr Blakeley at Sierra Montevideo according to the Rites & Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Lowther E Brandon MA Dean & Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were Richard Francis Short and Annie Maude Atkins. Ada was living at Sierra Montevideo, Douglas Station at the time. Ada died 23 October 1903 from peritonitis and is buried in Grave D321. Charles, manager of a sheep farm, died 1 June 1951 and is buried in Grave 1453.

5. Henry John PITALUGA born 21 June 1881 at San Carlos. Died 20 January 1882 in Stanley from convulsions (no burial record).

Children of Celestine (1) (3) and Roland HUBBARD: 1. William Andrez HUBBARD born 27 May 1871 in Stanley. Departed 26 August 1908 on

the Oronsa bound for Punta Arenas. William, age 52, died in Santa Cruz, Argentina, 8 October 1923. [FIM Mar 1924]

2. Benito Pitaluga HUBBARD born 4 September 1873 in Stanley. Departed 8 October 1899

on the Modestia bound for Valparaiso. 3. Margaret Ellen HUBBARD born 18 February 1876 in Stanley. Married Charles DIX,

shepherd in Stanley age 23, 21 June 1893 in the house of Mr Botwood according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Ernest C Murphy Baptist Minister. The witnesses were Louisa Botwood and Ernest Prior.

4. Mary Louisa HUBBARD born 9 December 1877 in Stanley. Mary was married to (1)

Frederic Albert ASHLEY, labourer in Stanley age 36, 9 August 1900 in the Parish Church according to the Rites & Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Edwin Coupland Aspinall Canon & Assistant Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were William Stephen Elmer and Anne Hubbard. Frederic died 21 April 1912 from cardiac and is buried in Grave G744. Mary was married to (2) William Joseph ALAZIA, shepherd, 25 December 1913 in the house of Mary Louisa Ashley by Governor's Licence by Robert Johnson, Nonconformist Minister. The witnesses were John Alazia and Beatrice Poole.

5. Louis Henry HUBBARD born 28 February 1881 at Gibraltar Station, St Salvador. Died 17

July 1882 from convulsions at Salvador and is buried there. 6. Richard Roland HUBBARD born 11 January 1883 at St Salvador. Died at Stanley 8 July

1897 from acute pneumonia and is buried in Grave Ei443. 7. Frederick John HUBBARD born 9 June 1885 at Salvador. Frederick, a cook, died 1

October 1964 in Stanley and is buried in Grave T2015. 8. George Louis HUBBARD born 4 November 1887. George departed 19 April 1911 on the

Madge was married to Daniel LEHEN, shepherd at San Salvador, age 29, 13 August 1901 in the Parish Church according to the Rites & Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Lowther E Brandon MA Dean & Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were Andreas Pitaluga and Mary Pitaluga. Margaret was living at San Salvador at the time. Margaret died 21 November 1916 in child birth and is buried in Grave I814. Daniel died 9 June 1946 and is buried in Grave N1323.

3. Andreas Donald PITALUGA born 6 December 1883 and baptised 29 November 1884 by

Holy Trinity Church. Andreas, a sheep farmer, was married to Rose PITALUGA 22 September 1926 at the Registrar's Office, Stanley by Special Licence by M Craigie-Halkett, Registrar General. The witnesses were M Kelway and A I Fleuret. Andreas’ father was recorded as Alexander McIntosh Pitaluga, deceased, and Rose’s father was recorded as James Pitaluga, deceased. Andreas, age 52, died 25 February 1936 and was buried 28 February 1936 in Grave A1091. [Obituary Penguin 26 Feb 1936, pg 1; 27 Feb 1936, pg 1; 3 Mar 1936,

pg 1-2] Rose emigrated to England in 1937 but her ashes were returned to the Falkland Islands and buried in her husband’s grave.

4. Agnes PITALUGA born 19 October 1886 in Stanley. Agnes was married to Albert Edward

SMALL, labourer of Stanley, 22 December 1908 at the Registrar's Office, Stanley by Special Licence by G Hurst, Registrar General. The witnesses were George William Harrison and Ernest Robert Gleadell. Agnes died 30 September 1912 from natural causes and is buried in Grave Ii751.

5. Ellen PITALUGA born 16 November 1888 at Salvador. Ellen was married to Reginald

Patrick “Regie” WHITE, stockman, 12 February 1912 at Christ Church Cathedral by Edward J Seymour, Dean & Chaplain. The witnesses were Alice Pitaluga, Alex Pitaluga and Murdo McLeod. They held their wedding reception in the Rose Hotel. Ellen and Regie left for Liverpool on board the Orcoma 21 February 1912. They intended emigrating to Australia. [CM Mar 1912, pg 141, 144]

6. Alexander PITALUGA born 6 July 1891. Sheep farmer. Alexander was married to Eva

Amelia HANSEN, age 22, 7 January 1914 at Christ Church Cathedral by Banns by C McDonald Hobley. Chaplain. The witnesses were William John McAtasney and Maggie McAtasney. Alexander died 7 January 1958 at Stanley and is buried in Grave Q1605. Eva died 2 October 1970 at Stanley and is buried in Grave Q1796.

7. Alice PITALUGA born 29 March 1894. Alice was married to William HARVEY, foreman,

27 September 1917 at Christ Church Cathedral by J Stanley Smith, Clerk in Holy Orders. The witnesses were J W Etheridge, Adele G Aldridge and Andres Pitaluga. William died 13 August 1965 at Stanley and is buried in Grave T2028. Alice died 3 May 1975 at Stanley and is buried in Grave T2029.

House, Rustat Road, Cambridge, England, and was called up until he proved that he was a native of the Falkland Islands. [FIC/EG/1917] Earl, a farmer, was married to Gertrude Greta Millicent HOWARD (not in the Falkland Islands) before 1926, a schoolteacher born in Cambridge. Earl died 13 March 1940 at Rincon Grande from heart failure and is buried in Grave N1161. Earl held three 1/30th shares in Rincon Grande Farm. [FIC/EF/]

2. Arthur Bailey Bound PITALUGA born 3 February 1902. Farm manager. Married Edith

Mary DENT (not in the Falkland Islands) before 1925, born in Derry, England. Arthur died from chronic alcohol poisoning 27 September 1944 and is buried in Grave 1284. Edith died 13 June 1966 at Stanley, age 66, and is buried in Grave T2052.

3. Malvina Jane Bound PITALUGA born 10 December 1905 in Stanley. Married David

Murray GALLOWAY, an engineer born in Singapore, 16 August 1927 in Edinburgh, Scotland. David was the only son of Sir David Galloway who was living in Singapore at the time of their marriage [CM November 1927]. Malvina and David both left the Falkland Islands 21 April 1927 on the Ortega for Liverpool. They returned at some point after this and then emigrated to the UK in 1930. Malvina and her three children arrived in Stanley 22 December 1947 on board the Fitzroy from Montevideo. Malvina was invited to luncheon at Government House on Race Day 26 December 1947. Malvina and her three children departed Stanley for Rincon Grande 2 January 1948 and returned 9 January 1948 on board the Fitzroy. Malvina and her three children arrived in Stanley from Rincon Grande on Sunday 14 March 1948 on board the Lafonia. Malvina and her three children left Stanley 16 March 1948 bound for South Africa via Montevideo.

“Catchie” MARTIN 20 June 1921 at the Office of the Registrar General, Stanley by M Craigie-Halkett, Registrar General. The witnesses were D J Sullivan and V Atkins. Samuel served in World War I and also had worked in South Georgia. Samuel, age 57, died Saturday 2 March 1946 in Montevideo where he had gone with his wife on account of his health. Henry went to Montevideo on medical in 1962. He died prior to 1968 (not in Falkland Islands). Christina died 8 March 1968, age 78, at Stanley and is buried in Grave T2098.

William Island at about 5.30pm 3 January 1931. He and Joe Lanning had taken the Peronelle to the south side of the island to collect tussock when their dinghy overturned. His body was found the next day and is buried in Grave J1014. [Penguin 5 Jan, 7 Jan, 8 Jan]

Victor died 30 June 1968 at Stanley and is buried in Grave T2105. Hilda died 9 March 1977 at Stanley and is buried in Grave T2106.

10. Dwenda Ellen BARNES born 19 December 1901. Married Irvine MOONEY, mariner, 23

February 1925 at the Registrar's Office, Stanley by Special Licence by M Craigie-Halkett, Registrar General. The witnesses were Robert George Barnes and Muriel Olive Bonner. They both went to Montevideo on business 24 April 1925 on the Pythia.

Edith emigrated to the UK in 1965 to live with her son. Joseph died 29 November 1966 in Stanley and is buried in Grave R1768.
