This was achieved as a result of the hard work of each club member, selling tickets and working the Spaghetti Dinner, The Charity Gala, the garage sale and the Blood Testing. Everyone should be congratulated for their hard work. A detailed breakdown of the donations is available on the spread sheet prepared by Philanthropy Chair Dick Mason. Shown on the pie chart is a break down based on the general categories of giving, International, Community, Food, Children, Health. Some of the larger contributions were The Cali Orphanage $6.000, College Scholarships $5,500, Shelter Boxes $3,000, Water Filters $1,980, Washington County Watershed Alliance $1,500, Genesis Washing- ton County and Meals on Wheels $1,300. Many of the programs could be considered in multiple categories, I used my best judg- ment as to which category a char- ity is categorized. The McMurray Rotary Club approved $45,000 in Philan-thropic donations for the 2010 year. Members Inducted—At the March 25th meeting of the Club a mass induction of members was conducted. Al DeLucia did an excellent job of formally in-ducting the members into the club and Rotary International. The members inducted were Bob Westwood, Marcy Santel, Steve Moreale, Tim Pitschke and Clifford Milowicki,. and . Not yet inducted, but are members Nina Zetty, Adam Pro-vance and Sarah Cole.

Blood Drive We held our annual blood drive on March 27th. There were 104 customers tested and on the whole it was a very nice event.

Trivia Contest The McMurray Rotarians competed on 3 different teams. The team with Mike Chaido did the best, finishing in the top 5, con-gratulations to Michael. The Silvestri Team beat out the team of Mark Berkley, Al DeLucia and Harry Funk by one point. We placed in the low twenties.

Recent Events

Board Meeting The Board Meeting is scheduled for April 13th. A key topic will be a fund raiser to replace the Spaghetti Din-ner. An Art Auc-tion is on the table.

us haven’t picked up a bowling ball in ages. So if you have not signed up yet please do I will try to come up with some crazy contests to spice things up. We need about 35 participants for the club to break even, more would be better.

On Friday, April 16th we will have a bowling outing at the Meadows. This is an event for family and mem-ber fun, no fund raising. The Club has reserved the VIP Bowling Room for 3 hours, the cost is $15 per adult and $10 per child. It includes unlimited bowling and shoe and ball rental. This is a really nice facility with 4 lanes in the VIP room, There is a waitress that can take drink orders and you can order food from any of the food court facili-ties. You do not have to have bowling experience. Most of

We had 2 winners in the past two months. In February John Pikras chose the odd/even op-tion and won $31. In March, Dave Regina was more daring a and picked # 3 and won the full pot of $48. Dave called the win and the # before it happened and is still talking about it.

Bowling for Fun We are being requested to participate in the Peters Township Annual Clean Up Day. Traditionally, we have been cleaning the sec-tion of McMurray Road from Center Church to Valley Brook Road. Ide-ally 8 members would be ideal. M Silvestri will be passing a sign up sheet shortly.
