First, Sam made a little spider diagram. He drew a panda in the middle and then he started to think about the kind of things Dusty’s friends might want to know about them.

Now that he’d finished his introduction he started to write his next paragraph………

This is what his finished writing looked like.
Sam checked that his writing made sense.
Did he need to change anything?
Would Dusty’s friends understand?

Then the wizard proclaimed …..
You’ve written a non-chronological report

Non-Chronological Reports have…..

• sub-headings
• paragraphs

Sam was puzzled. What was the wizard talking about?
heading?sub-heading?paragraph?
SAMPLE SLIDEwww.ks1resources.co.uk
A heading says whatyour report is about.
It’s like a title.
Sub-headings are used to say what each section
of writing is about.
Paragraphs are the different sections of your writing.
The information in the paragraphs has to
match the sub-headings.
