# $ K A + > Introduction to MDDTMD Disk Tool (MDDT) is a Windows application allowing you to perform disk maintenance operations on the HDU via network connection (local or remote). With MDDT, you can:

Create INL or ADD directories. View product information in the .P and .D files. Perform Safety Backup of the REL directories from the HDU to your PC, either immediately

or as scheduled. This includes logging the backup results, saving primary backup files to the secondary backup directory and executing pre- and post-batch files.

Perform Safety Backup of integrated voice mail software. Restore the Safety Backup from your PC to the HDU. Perform file handling such as copying or deleting directories and files, creating directories as

well as renaming directories and files on the HDU or your PC. Create file systems on the HDU and mount and unmount them. Support multi system use.

All the results of the file operations conform to the file system specification in the exchange. Refer to the Command Descriptions for FILE ADMINISTRATION, FI, for details on specific results.
