• Back office involved from day 1, before IT tender• Business driven model of what data goes where and into the

citizen hub• It’s an Information Management project NOT an IT project• Core cross council team of sensible souls who became the “data

stewards”• Newly created Senior Mgt Business Board (non IT) owns and

manages the citizen hub• Council Job Descriptions to include data quality and information

governance as core skills

Data Governance?


Data governance encompasses the people, processes and technology that are required to create a consistent enterprise view of a company's data.

Companies are embracing data governance as a way to bring order to the chaos of their IT infrastructures. By concentrating on the health of the data, companies address the lifeblood of their enterprises, helping create better data to support better business initiatives.
