MATHEMATICS• The revised CORE & Extended Designations

document on the Mathematics Companion document page, released 4/09, addresses 2 things:– “Future Core” items in 2005 were Core items in the 2009 MEAP and will

be assessed again in 2010– “Focal Points” were also identified as the focus for instruction, rather

than the original strands

• Michigan Focal Points: Core and Extended Designations – addressing Core, Ext. Core, Fut. Core & NASL for Michigan’s 3-8 GLCEs
