OTX Studio from Soft ing is a universal tool for the simple creati on and executi on of OTX sequences in accordance with ISO 13209. One of the tool‘s major qualiti es is that it provides diff erent user classes with exactly the representati on of diagnosti c sequences that best suits their parti cular purpose.

A typical applicati on is the validati on of the diagnosti c services of an ECU. This va-lidati on usually takes the form of a release and regression test. For this purpose, all diagnosti c services must be executed with diff erent parameterizati ons and the re-sults documented appropriately in test re-ports. The tests are created in OTX Studio by parameterizing predefi ned test steps accordingly. OTX Studio then uses these to generate automati c test sequences.

OTX STUDIO

The Test Case Editor based on such OTX test steps off ers the fast and conveni-ent creati on of complete ODX- and OTX-based diagnosti c test sequences. The user has access to typical test blocks which can simply be dragged and drop-ped onto the test template. These tem-plates also represent the test sequence and test report.

The Test Case Editor makes it very easy for the user to create the test sequences which, among other things, test the ECU in terms of individual diagnosti c services, complete diagnosti c service groups and communicati on behavior. In the process, you can choose between testi ng posi-ti ve and negati ve responses as well as valid value ranges and invalid diagnosti c services.

CAR ASYST for AUDI, developed by Soft ing, is the perfect mobile sys-tem soluti on for automobile manufacturers and importers, repair shops and end users in vehicle development and aft er-sales service.

With CAR ASYST, Soft ing is presenti ng an innovati ve and univer-sal tool for vehicle analysis. As it is used on conventi onal Android smartphones, users can start working with it whenever they want to wherever they happen to be. CAR ASYST has been opti mized for use in the repair shop and can also be implemented in vehicle de-velopment and engineering. On its launch, the APP will be support-ing the latest AUDI models (Q7 and A4).

CAR ASYST consists of the APP and the ADAPTER which estab-lishes the connecti on between the vehicle and the smartphone via WLAN. Offl ine analysis, in which all recorded data streams (bus data, measured values, GPS and video) can be observed in parallel, takes place using the opti onal PC tool ANALYTICS.

DIAGNOSTIC TOOL SET 8: COMPLETE SOLUTION FOR VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS

Soft ing‘s Diagnosti c Tool Set makes it possible to create consistent diagnosti c data and sequences based on the latest internati onal standards. This guarantees that diagnosti c communicati on and ve-hicle diagnosti cs work reliably in Engineering, Manufacturing and Aft er-Sales Service. Release 10 included numerous extensions and improvements, some of which are detailed below.

For example, the performance of the central ISO MVCI server was further improved. This considerably reduces the CPU load when running diagnosti c services, and loading ti mes for projects are shorter. This means it is now possible to start several instances of the kernel in parallel. The integrated simulati on engine, which enables the testi ng of diagnosti c data even without an ECU and ve-hicle interface, has been completely revised and considerably ex-tended: Simulati ons can now be recorded directly from diagnosti c sessions and also support dynamic changes to measured values. Several simulati ons can be created and managed for each project.

In terms of trucks, buses and mobile working machinery, universal OBD authoring has been extended with support for 29-bit identi -fi ers on the CAN bus. The delivery scope also contains a ready-to-use SAE J1939 project which enables vehicle diagnosti cs without fi rst having to create ODX data for that specifi c purpose.

Users of the ODX authoring system DTS Venice can fi lter according to audiences when exporti ng ODX 2.2.0. This makes it possible, for example, to only transfer the diagnosti c data actually required when fulfi lling statutory requirements.

To adapt ECUs to the relevant vehicle confi gurati on or release ad-diti onal comfort functi ons, the all-in-one engineering tester DTS Monaco was given an additi onal functi on for coding ECU variants. Furthermore, existi ng layouts can be reused in other workspaces or projects, and the fast, aff ordable Diagnosti cs over IP is supported in accordance with ISO 13400.

There are special demonstrati on and evaluati on packages, includ-ing ODX authoring and hardware-based ECU simulati on, available both for DoIP and for J1939. Release 10 included numerous extensions and improvements, some of which are detailed below.

For example, the performance of the central ISO MVCI server was further improved. This considerably reduces the CPU load when running diagnosti c services, and loading ti mes for projects are shorter. This means it is now possible to start several instances of the kernel in parallel. The integrated simulati on engine, which enables the testi ng of diagnosti c data even without an ECU and ve-hicle interface, has been completely revised and considerably ex-tended: Simulati ons can now be recorded directly from diagnosti c sessions and also support dynamic changes to measured values. Several simulati ons can be created and managed for each project.

In terms of trucks, buses and mobile working machinery, universal OBD authoring has been extended with support for 29-bit identi -fi ers on the CAN bus. The delivery scope also contains a ready-to-use SAE J1939 project which enables vehicle diagnosti cs without fi rst having to create ODX data for that specifi c purpose.

Users of the ODX authoring system DTS Venice can fi lter according to audiences when exporti ng ODX 2.2.0. This makes it possible, for example, to only transfer the diagnosti c data actually required when fulfi lling statutory requirements.

To adapt ECUs to the relevant vehicle confi gurati on or release ad-diti onal comfort functi ons, the all-in-one engineering tester DTS Monaco was given an additi onal functi on for coding ECU variants. Furthermore, existi ng layouts can be reused in other workspaces or projects, and the fast, aff ordable Diagnosti cs over IP is supported in accordance with ISO 13400.

There are special demonstrati on and evaluati on packages, includ-ing ODX authoring and hardware-based ECU simulati on, available both for DoIP and for J1939. Evaluati on Package for DoIP ISO 13400 specifi es the Ethernet technologies and Internet proto-cols to be used when external test tools communicate with ECUs in vehicles. DoIP (Diagnosti c communicati on over Internet Proto-col), like ISO-TP on the CAN bus, is used as a transport protocol for UDS (Unifi ed Diagnosti c Services). But a 100BASE-TX-Twist ed-Pair copper line is used as the physical medium. The advan tage in comparison to diagnosti cs over CAN is the 200-ti mes higher gross data rate of 100 MBit/s. There are cost advantages on the one hand because standardized hardware components (Ethernet con-troller, CAT5 cables and RJ-45 connectors) can be used and, on the other hand, because unlike with CAN, there is no longer any need for a vehicle interface. The Ethernet interface or WLAN available on every PC can be used for the direct connecti on to the vehicle. DoIP integrates smoothly in existi ng IT infrastructures. Soft ing‘s evaluati on package for DoIP consists of a hardware-based ECU simu lati on, comprehensive ODX data and detailed documentati on.
