Department of Mechanical Engineering
Vision
To provide the human
resources of high academic
excellence in the field of me-
chanical engineering by
integrated education of global
standards.
Mission
To develop faculty and
resources to impart knowledge
and skills that en-hances the
education quality.
To strengthen collaboration
with industry, government and
R&D institutes. To provide
opportunities and develop
abilities to face challenges of
society through scientific
approach
About the Department Mechanical Department started with the B.E.
Programme in the year 2004. It is affiliated to
Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU),
Belagavi, Karnataka. since its inception, the
department has been actively involved in
imparting quality education to the students.
The Department has highly qualified, commit-
ted and motivated faculty members. It has
well equipped spacious Laboratories and
other Infrastructural facilities to cater the
needs of budding Mechanical Engineering
Graduates. The departmental library has a
sound collection of books including reference
books &text books. The department is
recognized as a re-search Centre by VTU.
Over the decade, the department has
established state-of-the art laboratories in
various subjects which are utilized both by
undergraduate and post-graduate stu-dents
for conducting experiments. The department
has good number of MOUs with various
sectors of industry ranging from automotive to
manufacturing domains.
Post-Graduation in Thermal Power
Engineering
The Thermal Power Engineering course lays
accent on real-time applications of fluid flow
and heat transfer in Thermal energy systems,
Cryogenic Engineering and Refrigeration &
Air Conditioning etc. It trains students in the
design, devel-opment and simulation and
enables them to explore new areas in
Thermal Ener-gy Systems and associated
sciences.
MESA
Mechanical Engineering Students Association
has started in the year 2006, with an
intension of providing platform for the
students to exhibit their co-curricular talent.
The MESA was formed to bring about the
technical development of students by
organizing seminars, workshops and other
activities and also to improve non-technical
abilities of students by engendering good
communication skills, managerial abilities,
presentation skills and team work.
