financial burden of today's educational system and enabling the bright and talented minds of ASME student members to flourish. By completing a single electronic application you will be applying for most of the Scholarships available at ASME - that is, any for which you are eligible and meet the criteria. All Scholarships are made possible by the generous contributions of donors through the ASME Foundation and ASME Auxiliary. SWE Meetings Every Wednesday in February

Please Plan to Attend!

There will be an informational

meeting concerning the for-

mation of a CMU Society of

Women Engineers Chapter

every Wednesday in February

from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the

Houston Hall ME Lab upstairs.

Meeting will cover membership

as well as campus and communi-

ty involvement opportunities.

If you are interested in getting involved but are unable to attend the meeting, contact

Victoria Chavez at [email protected] or call 970-201-5660 for additional

information. MEN WELCOME.

The Colorado Mesa University Engineering Club strives to further student interest

and knowledge of engineering concepts, while encouraging teamwork. Hands-on

experience and application is developed through collegiate competitions presented

by ASME and SAE.

The Formula SAE series is an international collegiate design competition

held annually in Detroit, MI. Organized by SAE international, the series

challenges student design teams to conceive, fabricate, develop, and com-

pete with formula style race cars. This will be Mesa Motorsports’ inaugural

year for participating in the events. The scenario for the competition is, a fictional manufacturing firm has

tasked the team with producing a race car as a potential production vehicle

that will target the automotive enthusiast who is looking for a weekend au-

tocross race car.

Engineering Club members are actively seeking sponsors for their inaugural FSAE entry. If you know anyone who might have an interest in sup-porting this effort financially or through donation of time and materials, please contact Aaron Howell (Project Manager): [email protected]

Faculty Advisors The purpose of a faculty advisor is to assist in the process of degree completion. Students are required to have a facul-ty advisor's signature on their Program Sheet and other graduation paperwork.

Find Your Advisor Advisor assignments can be found in MAVzone under the Student Academics tab. Students can view their Academic Profile in the top-center column by selecting the current term in the drop-down box at the bottom of the profile and click-ing Go. This will cause the current program of study and advisor(s) to appear. Your Primary Faculty Advisor will be the first name listed. (Note: Dr. Brower is the secondary advisor for all Engineering students. He is the primary advisor only for students in the CU-Boulder BSME degree program.) You can click on the envelope icon by the advi-sor's name to email your advisor.

Engineering Faculty Advisors We strongly urge all students to take advantage of the opportunity to plan their course sequence, review potential elec-tive choices, and discuss issues of concern with their Primary Faculty Advisor. Please make an appointment when you need to see your advisor.
